OBITUARIES
KENNETH HERBERT WHEELER
Following a long and painful illness
Kenneth Herbert W heeler, of Belgrave died
Wednesday, March 5 at his home. He was 66.
Bom in Morris township, Mr. Wheeler was
a son of the late Herbert Wheeler and Pearl
Procter. He attended U.S.S. 17 East
Wawanosh and Morris Public School, and
received secondary school education at
W Ingham High School. He was a student at
Beal Technical, London when he volunteered
his services at the call of his country, and
served in Canada as a wireless operator with
the Air Force from 1942-1945.
He married Mabel Coultes, daughter of the
late Charles Coultes and Mary McGowan, on
May 1, 1945.
Following his discharge, the couple farmed
on Lot 8, Concession 8 East Wawanosh
Township until his retirement to Belgrave in
1977.
Mr. Wheeler was very active in church and
community organizations until his ill health
forced him to withdraw from many activities.
A memberof Knox United Church, Belgrave,
he was an elder for many years, a member of
the Board of Stewards, and presently the
Recording Steward of the Official. Board as
well as a faithful member in the bass section
of the choir.
Mr. Wheeler was always interested in
sports and as an avid curler he belonged to
the Country Curlers for many years during
which time he acted as their secretary -trea-
surer, retiring in 1985.
He was secretary of Belgrave District
Credit Union for many years and presently
was a Credit Committee memberof the North
Huron Credit Union.
Mr. Wheeler has always taken interest and
a caring concern for the. Brandon Cemetery,
of which he was still a member of the Board
Having inherited a special relationship
with wood from his father, Mr. Wheeler
became deeply' involved with his hobby,
woodworking. Many children will remem-
ber him as they play with the wooden toys and
furniture he has made. His enthusiasm
peaked in 1985 when he fashioned a walnut
grandfather dock. This masterpiece in the
Wheeler livingrbom, is a constant reminder
of Kenneth's handiwork.
Surviving are his wife Mabel, son-in-law
Vincent Makes and wife Patricia, London,
and granddaughter, Alicia Jean. Also his
sister Velma (Mrs. Wilfred Picket!) of
Vancouver.
He was predeceased by an infant son
(1949), his daughter Mary Anne, (Mrs.
Vincent Makes) 1976, his son Ivan Lawrence
(1977) and a brother Goldwin (1969).
Mr. Kenneth Wheeler rested at the
McBurney Funeral Home, W Ingham, where
the family received visitors on Saturday,
March 8. The funeral service we Iv:inducted
by the Rev. John G. Roberts in Knox United
Church, Belgrave on Sunday, March 9.
Pallbearers were Ronald Coultes, Arnold
Bruce, George Michie, Ross Procter, Ross'
Anderson and John Nixon.
Floral tributes were carried by Lewis
Stonehouse, George Johnston, Robert Chart-
er and Clifford Coultes.
Spring interment will be h the Brandon
Cemetery, Belgrave.
W ELLIAM JAMES F. BELL
William James F. Bell, formerly of Kippen,
died Saturday, March 8, 1988 at South Huron
Hospital in Exeter. He was 77.
Mr. Bell was a member of Huron Lodge
224, Hensall, A.F. and A.M., the Malloch
Chapter of the RA.M. St. Elmo Perceptory,
Stratford, the Bluewater Shrine Club, the
Mocha Temple, London, and the Order of the
Eastern Star 222, Exeter.
He is survived by his wife, the former
Dorothy Robbins, of Exeter; sons, Don Bell,
of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and Jack and
Tovo Bell of Kipper, and daughter Elaine
Ford, of Exeter.

Funeral Home in Exeter. and a service was
held Monday with Rev. Lorne Keays
officiating. Spring burial in allddeine-

MILTON HENRY HOFF'
Milton Henry Hoff died at the Muskoka
Nursing Home in Gravenhurst Friday,
February 21, 1986. Mr. Hoff had previously
resided and operated a gas station in Seaforth
for 25 to 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Campbell;
sons Vernon of Nanaimo, British Columbia,
Alvin of Seaforth, John of Gravenhurst and
William of Nakina; d daughterMargaret
Ripa, of Chesapeak , Virginia
Cmthers of Landon.
Also surviving are several grandchildren
and great grandthhildrnlr ; a sister, Betty
Min= of Neustadt and a brother William
of North Bay.
He was predeceased by one daughter,
Doris Hulley of Paris.
The late Mr. Hoff rested at the W .J. Cavin
Funeral Home in Gravenhurst. Funeral
service and committal were In the chapel on
Monday, Febniary 24, with Rev. Davin
Mitchell officiating.

Harriette Nesbitt, of Stratford, died
Monday, February 24, 1986 at Spruce Lodge,
Stratford. She was 86.
Borah February 10, 1900, in Sombre
Township, Kent County, she was the
daughter of David G.^ and Mary (Inglis)
MacQuarrie.
In August 1926, in Flora Township, she and
Blake H. Nesbitt were married.
Mrs. Nesbitt, before moving to Stratford,
had resided at RR 1, Listowel and then in
Listowel. She taught at public schools in
Richmond Hill. Thalee, Listowel and at
Jackson's School.
Mrs. Nesbitt was a member of Trinity
United Church, Listowel, the United Church
Women, Perth Chapter 69, Order of the
Eastern Star and the West Brandi Women's
institute.
She is survived by her husband, Blake
Nesbitt; four sons, Harry W. Nesbitt of
Stratford; Lionel Nesbitt of Owen Sound;
Donald Nesbitt of Toronto and Randolph
Nesbitt of Mistier; a daughter Vadis Mrs,
Ken Woods) of Mississauga; 16 grandchild-
ren and eight great d and two
