Band entertains at
A Valentine dance culminated the week's
activities at the Seaforth Health Care Facility.
The music was provided by Gladys Van
Egmond and her band. They entertained
Friday afternoon.
Also on Valentine' s Day Mary McIver, Ann
Downey and Marjorie Maloney brought
Valentine cupcakes and Hazel McGonigle
donated prizes for the days activities.
Other activities during the week included
bowling Monday, with Pat Ryan the eventual
winner; bowling again Tuesday with the help
of Seaforth Public School students and Keith
Herman, Doris Smith and Jim Nolan,
emerging the winners; a worship service
Wednesday with Reverend W illiam Barber
and Henrietta Brown playing the piano; a
Valentine euchre party with Kilbarchan
Nursing Home on Thursday. W inners in that
Va
euchre party were Pat Ryan, Ila Gardner,
Mary McIver, Elmer Bakscy, Jim Nolan and
Louisa.

his father Harvey Brown.
Pat and Rose Altman visited her parents

Conservation clubs to complete project
4-H Conservation Clubs will be completing
a Wildlife Management Project this year, The
aim of the project is to develop, in young
people, an understanding of the value of
Ontario's wildlife resources on the farm.
The members will learn how to identify
common plant and wildlife, species. The
wildlife management principles will be
considered. The members will plan and
implement effective wildlife' management
techniques on the farm. It is hoped that the
young people will develop responsible
attitudes and values toward the proper
management of Ontario's natural resources.

The marriage of Janice Patterson and Ken
MacDonald took place Saturday, August 10,
1985 at the Centennial United Church in
Stratford. Janice is the daughter of Irene and
Wesley Patterson of St. Marys. Ken's
parents are Kathleen and Ross MacDonald of
Seaforth.

Institute meeting
The Seaforth W omen's Institute held its
Agriculture and Canadian industries meeting
at the home of Thelma Dale. President
Marion Gordon opened with a poem and
conducted the opening exercises.

On Friday. a public relations social evening
was held .in the basement of Hensall
Presbyterian Church with 59 people in
attendance. President Grace Drummond
welcomed everyone. Euchre was enjoyed Al
with 14 tables in play. Ladies high was won by
Mary Broadfoot. Thea Wisch won the ladies
low prize. The men's high was captured by
Vern Alderdice, men's low hand was won by
Uwe Wisch. Arthur Variey had a birthday •
closest to February 14 and was serenaded by
"Happy Birthday." The travelling lone hand
was worn by Doris Hamilton. Shirley Fergu-
son won the draw prize of a box of groceries.
After lunch those people wearing red were
called to the front and had to serenade the
rest by singing "Let Me Call You Sweet-
heart." Mary Broadfoot accompanied at the
piano and also played a medley of tunes to
round out the evening. Aldeen Volland
announced the seniorcitizens of Hensel'
holding a euchre party on Tuesday, February
25 at 8 p.m. in the Lodge Hall. Everyone is
welcome.
