Approximately 150 members and guests were in attendance. There was an error on who was playing for the dance last week. Jack Ungarian's band is supposed to play on March 8 at the barbecue' to be held that evening, but it was "Lively Lou" who played on Saturday.. The Legion's apologies to all concerned for the error, There are still a number of membership cards that haven't been picked up, yet. If yours is there please take a moment and drop in and pick it up. The bus trip scheduled for. Saturday afternoon is scheduled to leave at noon. The seats at the moment are all filled, so unless there are cancellations, no more names will be accepted. The Legion Public Speaking contest will be held at the Legion Hall Sunday at 2 p.m. Tom W ilbee, the Youth Education Chariman, would like to see as many as possible of the members out to hear the young contestants speak. Some in the past have reached the Ontario finals, but it is in the Branch contests where the youth of local schools receive the most opportunity to compete against one Successful rally held by South Hibbert LEGION NEWS another and receive the experience of speaking in front of an audience. The winners will go on to Zone, District and Area contests to be held in the near future. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them. LEGION AUXILIARY NEWS ' BY BARBARA SCOTT, PRO At the February meeting of the Auxiliary there were 22 members present. First Vice The South Hibbert Athletic Association had a successful snowmobile poker rally with. a total of 317 hands, Prize winners were Bob Johns, Bob Tate, Gary Kemp, Lorne Balfour, Ted De Wit, and Shane Ward, Daryl Vorstenbosch, Eric Larsen, Ron Warring, Gary Simpson, Jason Christie, Don Johns, Jon Passmore, Penny Meikle. President Ann Wood was in the chair. Reports were given and correspondence was read, A request from the Ontario March of Dimes was received and the ladies decided to donate $25. Other requests for donations were retained for discussion. It was decided to purchase a larger freezer for the kitchen, which, should help the committees quite a lot, The bus trip committee is still working on the planned tripfdrOctober and is also trying to arrange a trip for April, the anniversary month. More on this when arrangements are complete. Saturday afternoon's bus trip is full, the bus leaves at nooyf sharp. Darts will be delayed until 7:30 p.m. because of this outing.
