FISHER/DORCHT St. Michael's Church in Waterloo was the setting for the double wedding ring ceremony Saturday,' June 13, 1987 uniting • Robert `Keith Fisher and Anne Elizabeth • Dorcht in marriage. The groom is the son of Gerald and Eleanor Fisher, Kitchener and. the grandson of Violet Elgie, Seaforth and Erwin Fisher of Waterloo. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dorcht of Waterloo. The wedding was held at Woolner's Catering, Dearborn Place, Waterloo. Following a honeymoon in Jamaica the couple will reside at 331 Lee Circle, Waterloo. OBITUARIES JENNY MCNAUGHTON, Jenny May McNaughton of London, and formerly of Tuckersmith Township, died Saturday, June 27, 1987 at St. Joseph's Hospital, London. She was 91. The former Jenny Sholdice, she is surviv- ed by one daughter, Hazel Harrison and husband Herb; and three sons, Harold of Mitchell, Earl of Seaforth and Arthur of London. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 19. great grandchildren and one sister, Annie Williamson of Listowel, formerly of Walton. Mrs, McNaughton was predeceased by her husband John A. McNaughton; one sister, Margaret Clark; two brothers, John and Watson and one grandson Lorne Harrison. Friends were received at the Whitney- Ribey Funeral Home, Seaforth until Tues- day when a funeral service was held. Burial at Maitland Bank Cemetery, Seaforth. Pallbearers were Art McNaughton, Den- -nis McIntosh, Bob. Gridzak, Earl Mullin, Stan Debug and Glenn McNaughton. Flowerbearers were Ray Harrison, Eric Harrison, Ken Sholdice and Ron Broadfoot. JEANE DAISY ZILER Jeane Daisy Ziler of Seaforth died Tues- day, June 23, 1987 At the Stratford General Hospital. She was 66. Born in St, Thomas she was a daughter of the late Harry Smith and Mary Ann Mann- ing. Following her marriage in 1951 to Henry Ziler she moved to Seaforth where Henry ran the machine shop in Egmond- ville, She was also involved with her hus- band in the Radar Circle Car Club. Mrs, Ziler had served in the RCAF from 1942 to 1945 during World War II and was a regular member . of the Royal Canadian Legion. She was also a member of St. Jarr Roman Catholic Church, Seaforth anu member of its Catholic Women's League. She is survived by her husband Henry Ziler; two daughters, Patricia and her hus- band Edwen Bearss of Mitchell and "Judith and her husband Paul Yost of Stratford and one son James Ziler at home. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Laura and Danny Bearss; one sister Dor- thea (Mrs. George Kelly) of Newmarket and one brother John Smith of St. Thomas. Mrs. Ziler was predeceased by one sister Alice Player and one brother William Smith. Friends called at the Ball and Falconer "Box Funeral Chapel", Seaforth and a funeral sennet was held Friday at , St. James Church, Seaforth with the Reverend Charles Caruana officiating. A memorial service was conducted at the funeral home on Thursday by 'members of the Seaforth Legion. Family devotions were held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening led by Rev. C. Caruana and members of St. James Roman Catholic Church CWL, Flower bearers were Tom and Lenny Dietrich and Michael Strauss, nephews of Mrs. Ziler, Pallbearer$ were George Case, Everett Felker, Frank Golding, Allan Nicholson, Frank Phillips and Frank Sills, all members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 156 Seaforth. Wednesday afternoon brought residents to the last Wednesday for car rides •in the month of June: Several residents took part in this activity the past month, and as usual it was enjoyed tremendously. We'd like to thank all the ladies from the Christian Reformed Church who made our Wednes- day afternoon very special, On Thursday morning the Resident Coun- cil met for June. Then in the afternoon several residents made their way outside, to celebrate the June birthdays, at the monthly birthday party, Three very happy birthdays are wished to Dorothy Hastings, Rosa.G.rigg and Louise Scrymgeour, Last week was known as Nursing Home Week, in Ontario so in honor of the occasion the Resident Council of Queensway purchas- ed corsages to present to all staff members to show their appreciation and to salute them for all their hard and dedicated work thoughout the year,, Monday was a very special day, as well as traditional for Queensway. Many residents made their way up to; Bill Gibson"cottage for the fifth year in a row. It was a delightful afternoon of visiting :and enjoying Bill's very own carrot cake. All. proceeds from the social, will be donated to this very wor- thwhile organization. A day like last Friday cannot be so suc- cessful without a lot of dedicated people who put in a lot of time and effort to help, us. . To begin thanks to the ladies from the Zurich Mennonite Church for coming in and. serving the delicious strawberries, ice cream, cake and not to mention the whip cream. Throughout the afternoon all enjoyed super entertainment by Queensway's own residents'as well ,as welcomed guests. Vic- toriaBiaback began the afternoon of music and song with two songs from, the hit broad - way show Annie. Victoria did a great job . and it. is hoped she'll be able to make it over to Queensway to entertain again in the near future, Other entertainment included Lloyd, McDougall who Whistled, and Lucille Jef- frey and Carol Gascho who sang'a beautiful duet., To top off the afternoon, George •Mathonia and Friends popped by to entertain, with some great music; which was enjoyedby every one. • Residents also had. a raffle which was a huge success.
