Dessert euchre ends ' event for Walton

Thursday night finished the Walton
Women's Institute euchre for this season.
Everyone sampled many desserts prior to
;playing euchre. The food was set up in the
hall basement then 10 tables 'of euchre were
in play upstairs. Although it was quite warm
everyone enjoyed themselves.
Prizes were awarded to the one with the
highest score for the season with a $25 che-
que going to Bill McLelland and a planter of
flowers 16 -Doreen Hakwell.
Winnersfor the evening were high lady -
Margaret Sweeney, low Gloria Low, high
man - Harold Bolger, low Raymond Lair.

Sunday morning at Duff's United Church,
Walton during the service dedications of,
Memorial Gifts took place.
Rev: Bonnie Lamble announced the
dedicationsof a gold bible stand in memory
of Jim and Edna McDonald: Present was
Ken, Don and Mary their family. Mary
made the presentation in the Glory and
Praise of God.
. Karen' Hoegy made the dedication of, a
clock in memory of Walter Johnston, on
behalf of Hugh. and Malinda Johnston. A
beautiful flower garden, ,planted by the
Junior choir was dedicated by Sarah Lam-
ble and Lisa Gingerich in memory of. Trish
Clark..
Don McDonald contributed the beautiful
solo, "Did you stop to Pray?'' Blaine Marks
was, the lay reader. •
In the upcoming , announcements the
U.C. W. general meeting is to be held in the
church basemen( tonight at 7:30 p.m. Thurs-

Dr. Neil McDonald, Vancouver and Karen
McDonald, Olds, Alberta have been visiting
with their parents; Mr. and—MGI'8 Kinn-`
McDonald and other relatives.
A large number of people from this area
attended the 25th anniversary party for Neil
and Marie McGavin, Saturday night in
Brussels at the Brussels, Morris and Grey
Community centre. Danny and Karen
Achilles spent the weekend at the home of
the former grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. Rol-
ly Achilles.
Next Sunday afternoon is the retirement
party for Mary Huether, a former Walton
girl, at the Brussels school.

At the Huron County 4-H Youth Council
meeting held May 25, it was decided to wash
cows at the Clinton Fair for a small fee. The
money raised from this and other fun-
draisers will go to support many activities
planned for 4-H members this summer.
.. These events include a 4-H dance of July 4,
a baseball tournament and dance on August
8, and bus trips planned for July 1 and 29.

Seaforth Community Hospital. The guests
took time off to visit Jerry in the hospital.

recently.
Several from this community attended the
Annett-Cameron. wedding on. Saturday, May
23 in the Anglican Church, Listowel and the
reception in the Atwood Community Centre.
Mrs. Mac Engel spent the May 24 weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Clark, Stratford.
They all attended the 10 a.m. service in
Knox Presbyterian Church, Waterloo, May
24, when "Brent Gordon" son of Ronald and
Rosanne Burdett was baptized by the
minister, the. Rev. John C. Henderson.
Following the service over 20 family
members were entertained at the home of
Ron and Rosanne. •
Approximately 60 pupils of Grades 5 and 6
of Grey Central School spent two days and
one night camping at Falls Conservation,
Benmiller, the past week.
