have splendid week
• Queensway had a splendid week of ac-
' tivities that have kept resiignts very busy.
On Tuesday, the day began with exercises
• at 10 am, followed up in the afternoon with
the weekly church service. Residents had
the pleasure of welcoming Pastor Alles to
Queensway.to Conduct the church service.
Wednesday afternoon several residents
• sat down .and enjoyed- reviewing several,
• books from the Hensall Library. .They look-
ed at beautiful picture books, as well as
"dabbled" in adventures ,and romantic

• watched "Lonely Boy" which took them
through a couple of days with Paul Anka at
• the height of his young career in the late 50s
and early 60s. R was a very interesting look

They all had an enjoyable afternoon
visiting, playing euchre and' several other
board games.
Saturday was a very busy day at
Queensway. First of all; Queensway's aux-
iliary sponsored the Queensway Yard Sale.
They'd like to thank all the ladies from the
auxiliary who put their time and effort into
the yard sale. jt's very much appreciated by
all.
Saturday afternoon Queensyray was very
honored to_welcoine_the_stepdaneers from,
Seaforth: All the children did a super job
and residents were very impressed with all
the talent they saw. They'd like to thank the
parents and teachers who came along, and
anyone else involved with the talented group
of children. Thanks again, for a very enter-
taining afternoon.

The Brownies went on a Nature walk
April 28, played at the park and had a litter
clean-up at the same time. They then went
back to the • Brownie meeting and had
some hot cnocolate. •
The Brownies have had a very good
month selling cookies. -

motocrossers, will be coming from all over
Canada to compete for a part of the $7,500
purse. Canada's top and now world-class
racer, Ross Pederson will be defending his
No. 1 position against the best of the rest.

Mary Watson and Al Nigh Were married
Saturday, May 23, 1987 at, St. Boniface
Catholic Church, Zurich by Father Mooney.
The bride is the daughter of Paul and
Angela Watson of RR 1 Dashwood and the'
groom is,the son of Frank and Leona Nigh: of
RR 4 Seaforth. Maid of honor was Joanne
WatSon of. RR 1. Dashwood, sister -of the
bride and bridesmaids were Erryn
Shephard of Grand Bend, friend of the bride,
Diane Doell of RR 3 Stratford, sister of the
groom and Cathy Overholt of London,
cousin of the bride. Best man was Brian
Nigh of Seaforth brother of- the groom and
guests were ushered by Wayne Nigh of Sar-
nia, brother of the groom, Robert Watson of
Dashwood, ,brother of the bride and Chris
Watson of Dashwood, -brother of the bride.
Following a reception at the Seaforth and
District Community Centres the couple took
a honeymoon trip to Northern Ontario.

LOUIS J. FLANNERY
Louis J. Flannery, of Southfield, Michigan
ind formerly of Seaforth, died. Monday,
Vlay 11, 1987.
Mr. Flannery is survived by his wife, the
former Juanita East.
Also Surviving are brothers, John of
Seaforth, Cyril of Novi, Michigan and
Gerald of Amherst, Mara Scotia and sisters,
Martha of Dearborn, Michigan and
Catherine of Guelph.
• He was predeceased by one brother Jim'
and one sister Theresa.
Interment Holy-Sepulehre-Gemetery.
FLORENCE MARY RUSSELL
Funeral services for the late Florenee ,
Mary Russell, were •conducted at the
Lockhart Funeral Home, on Wednesday,
May 6, 1987. Reverend D, Pletsch offIciated.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Donald
Russell, Ivan McClymont, Russell Camp-
bell, Russell McLeod, John Russell and
Randy Russell. Flowerbearers were grand-
daughters, Margaret McClymont, Ruth
Holloway, Mary Ann McLeod, Marilyn
Witschi and Lavida Frances. •
Interment was in Ray's Cemetery, Fullar-
ton Township. Expressions of sympathy
were shown through floral tributes and
memorial donations.
IDA AGNES BRAND
Ida Agnes Brand died Saturday, May 23,
• 1987 -at -the -P -ort -Perry -Community -Hospital.
DOUGLAS KENNETH MCKAY
DOuglas Kcnneth McKay, of Kippen died
as a result of a boating accident near
Goderich. He -was 32.
Mr. McKay is survived by his wife, the
former Leanne Melanson, son David and
daughters, Lisa and Lori, all .at home.
Also surviving are his mother, Helen
McKay, of Exeter; sisters Diane'(Mrs. Neil
McNichol) of McKillop Township, Darlene
of Stratford and Sandra of London; brother
Jeff of Hensall; and grandmother Grace
Love of Clinton. '
The family received friends at the
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home, Seaforth un-'
til Tuesday when funeral services were'
held. Interment Maitlandbank Cemetery,
Seaforth. -
Pallbearers were Doh Hoffman, Harry
Cook, Lloyd McCurdy, John McGregor, Les
Riley and Bob Carnochaft. F,lowerbearers
were Jackie McNichol, Dianne Elliott, Ray.
Biesell, Bob McKellar and Brian Glanville.
As expressions of sympathy donations can
be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
The former Ida Hogg she is survived by a
son, William James (Jim) of Scarborough
and brothers Frank Hogg of Toronto and
Jim Hogg of Seaforth.
Also surviving are grandsons Paul and
Greg.
Mrs. Brand was preneceased by her hus-
band Paul Brand and one sister Janet Hogg.
Funeral services were held at Scugog
Memorial Funeral Chapel, Port Perry on
May 25. Interment was at Maitland Bank
Cemetery, Seaforth.

Rowland, Fort St. John, B.C. wish to an-
nounce the birth of their daughter Caylee
Maria, born May 19, 1987. Jonathan also
welcomes his baby sister. Proud grand-
