Manor residents stuff animals
In addition to .the regular activities at the were winners in bingo. Ellen Gould visited Alfie Sykes and they
enjoyed a game of cribbage,
mabel Clarke visited her father Erle Dov.
He has since been admitted to the Seaforth
Hospital and is wished a•speedy recovery,

afternoon the Ministry of Health showed
slides and discussed aids with the staff.
Films were shown on -Wednesday after-
noon and on Thursday morning residents
took part in exercises for fun and fitness.,
• On Thursday afternoon the men played
euchre while the ladies cared for the flowers
they are nurturing for their plant sale.
On Friday afternoon Harold Walsh, DAve
Netzke,. Eva Netzke, Alfie Sykes, Bill -Con-
nolly, Dennis Arney, and Alfie Sykes again,
Leo O'Sullivan went to St. Columban with
his family for a day. .
Bill and Janice Morris and Josie and Lynn
Nigh visited with Helen Morris. •
Mary Lamont visited Kelly Lamont.
Charlie Geddes visited his wife Carol.
Audrey Cameron and daughter Ann and
Paul Boshart and family visited Verda.

and Beryl Nicholson's home for supper. .

Maplewood • residents .participate in test
It was a pleasant week at Maplewood
-Manor with residents participating in a
variety of activities including "a sprinkler
system test" on April 1.
Monday afternoon Pete Tremeer went
bowling with the usual group.
Tuesday morning residents joined Deb
Melady and Glen Rose for exercises. Barb
Dale, a physiotherapist was also in atten-
dance. Her presence is appreciated as is her
contribution of helpful hints.
Residents spent Tuesday afternoon play-
ing euchre. Bill and Dorothy Papule were
guests who came to Maplewood to play
euchre as well. Mary Chapple and Anne
Downey were the volunteers who helped.
The door prize was won by Gertio Taylor;
Wednesday started off with staff and,
residents having a good laugh, Flowered
rain hats had been distributed to all
residents with instructions to please wear
them in the dining room as. the sprinkler'.
system was being tested. Everyone was a
good sport and donned the bonnets. When
the door bell rang during breakfast a few
folks wondered if perhaps the serviceman
had arrived to do the test. However it was an
April, Fool's joke contrived. by Frances•
Breen.

came to Maplewood for the worship service.
His visits are always appreciated. •
Wednesday night residents played Lions
TV Bingo in the common room. The
volunteer helpers, Anne Downey and Marl -
Maloney, were brought to Maplewood by
Junior Farmer Lynda Feagan. Marl
Maloney was lucky and won the prize for
having the card With numbers closest to a
bingo. Lunch was served following bingo
and everyone enjoyed the pleasant evening.
On Thursday morning the students of
SDHS were once again welcome visitors for
the residents. Many spent the hour playing
cards or talkirig about mutual Interests.
Two of the students are learning how to
crochet. Jean Johns, who crochets.
beautifully, is giving them instructions. .
!Friday afternoon Gail Hills was at Maple
wood to show movies. The two movies
shown were excellent, The first one, called
the Juggler was about a blind child and the
second was about mountain goats. With an
intermission for snacks and chatting, the
afternoon went by very quickly,
