The Seaforth Junior Belle ringette team
played Exeter last week in the finals of the
Huron -Perth league playoffs and won 2-1.
The game started out at a very fast pace,
and continued this way throughout the first
period. The•end to end action seemed to go on
forever with both goaltenders making great
saves. With many good defensive plays made
by both teams the game became a goal -

Then, with just one minute and 56 seconds

goaltenders stayed hot. Finally Exeter scored
with only two minutes and 37 seconds left to,
play. That goal was credited to Cindy Moore,
with the assists going to Tina Campbell and

Seaforth took control of the ring for the next
two minutes, then Exeter almost scored, but
another good defensive play saved the game.

Novice edge fathers 5 - 4
A much talked about eontestfinally came to
reality Friday night- a grudge match between
the highly favored fathers and their sons from
the Novice hockey team.
The early going was filed with numerous
scoring dances by the fathers as they sante
out flying. However, it was the Novice that
got on the board first when Steve Menially
muscled his way to the Slot and ripped a shbt
past a bewildered Dave Menially, playing
goal for the fathers. Kevin (Chevy) Hender-
son, who is among the top scorers in the
Seaforth IHL, quickly evened the score for the
fathers.
The sons, with quick goals by Mclnally and
Mike Hugill, shot their team into a 3-1 lead.
Hut Kevin Henderson, showing some of the
offensive skills that have made him a top.
scoring threat, took Matters into his own
hands andnotchhed fits secondand-third goals
of the game to tie the contest at three.
Both teams pressed hard for the go-ahead
goal, but outstanding goaltending from both
sides kept the score deadlocked.
A defensive blunder by Ken Devereaux, a
stalwart defenseman with the Seaforth
Oldtimers, allowed the Novice to take a.4-3
lead.
A nifty back pass from an unknown father
eluded Devereaux, as he and gbaltender
Dave Mclnally were caught napping and the
puck trickled into the net. The goal was
credited to Chris (Guy) Matron. However;
with time running out, Kevin Henderson

unassisted) to tie the game again.
With only seconds remaining, Steve
Mclnally completed an end to end rush and
blew another blistering drive past his father
ending the game 5-4.
The fathers are to be congratulated for a
fine effort and for being very -sportsman???
