Queensway residents hke
Welcome everyone to Queensway News on
this last week of March and the beginning of
April. Ah, April, it sounds great, doesn't it!
On March 21 Queensway residents had the
•pleasure of welcoming the MYFSingers from
. Zurich. They gave a delightful hour of singing
that all enjoyed. After, residents had time to
visit guests and nibble on a delicious snack.
Monday afternoon brought residents once
again to their favorite pastime Bingo. W ith
the help of the Hensall United Church LadieS,
they had a great time visiting and shouting
out the best word in the english language -
BINGO!.
The weekly church service took place on
Tuesday afternoon; with a 'little help from
Reverend Hawley who conducted the service
this week. Residents thank him for taking
time to coma and thank the guests Reverend
'Hawley brought with him who volunteered
their time for the hour.
• - Wednesday was a very -busy day for
everyone at Queensway due to the different
activities going on. To begin, there • was
• Baking Club Part I, where residents made
white cupcakes. Then in • the afternoon
, several went bowling in Zurich. All had a very
• enjoyable yet competitive time playing five
pin bowling. While they were bowling, the
rest of the -residents were up to their ears
'literally) in green icing: Yes, it was' Bakihg
Club Part Hat 2 p.m. Residents iced cupcakes
with green icing for Friday, which was

The. Happy Pushers would like to thank the
Hensall Parks Board for sponsoring Senior
Citizen's Month in March and treating them
o-free_shuffling
There were 24 out to shuffle on Thursday
including guests from the Exeter group.
Ladies high scores were; 011ie Essery 424,
Bea Ballantyne 299, Betty Grenier 295.
• High men's scores were; Albert Hummel
435, John Eberle 390, Ernie Chipchase 317.
- MINOR HOCKEY
The final weekend of Minor Hockey was a
triumph for most of the Hensall teams.
• The Tykes, Bantams and Pee Wees all
finished as the "A:' Champions in their
divisions at the Tier II tournaments held over
the weekend,
The Tykes began their climb to the top on
Friday night in Zurich when they demolished
Bayfield 19-0.
Brock Weiss with seven goals and Graham
Keys with six were Hensall's heroes with
help. from Mark Bell, two, Jeff Rathwell,
Bryan Struthers, Ryan Munn and Jonathon
Campbell.
On Saturday Brock W eiss, four, Mark Bell,
Graham Keys and Ryan Munn led their team
to a 7-1 victory over Clinton which gave them
a spot in the championship,
The rafters were ringing Sunday morning
in Zurich when Hensall met a strong team
from Blyth and emerged victorious with a

afternoon the Resident Council met for the
month of March. That evening Queensway
held its monthly birthday party to celebrate
birthdays in March. Happy Birthday to Grace
Dinney, Isabel Sproat, and Carl Lawatski who
celebrated their birthdays. It was a grand
party. Thanks to 'Mrs. Mickle who enter-
tained on the piano, and Mary Roobol and
Dorothy Brintnell who volunteered for the
evening. Thank you ladies for all your help.
As mentioned earlier, International Day
was Friday. This month Ireland was featured.
If you are Irish, or even if you're not, you
would have enjoyed the Irish meal that was
prepared by the kitchen staff, mrrannun
good!
To keep with the Irish tradition residents
viewed a Film "Images of Ireland" that took
them to various spots in Ireland, as well as
showed the many different things that make
up the Irish culture! •
Residents ended the week with class, with
a . Cards and Games, 'party on Saturday
afternoon. Euchre, shuffleboard along with •
several other games were featured. It was.a
very enjoyable afternoon, thanks to the
participation from the coiranunity, as well as
from the people within Queensway. .

the cross in St. Andrew's Church on Sunday,
the fourth Sunday of Lent. He spoke on "The
tragedy of Pilate." The choir sang "It's

Kippen United Church Women tee invited
to Varna on Thursday at 8 p.m. and to
Egmondville on Tuesday, April 7 at 7 :30 p.m.
The Good Friday service will be a joint
service, held April 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Kippen
