front the communities of Oocierichi Clinton,.
Blyth, Mitchell, 1 Monktoit, tucknow
Brussels, Witighem, Listowel, Milverton,
Strathroy, St. Marys and Seaforth will par-
ticipate M a full day of competition. The.
•competition is an annual .event set up to
develop the talent of area skaters and to
give them .the opportunity to compete,
against skaters 'from outside their min

clude; Interpretative Free Skating,. where
• the creativity of the skater is tested when,
they are asked to skate to a piece•of music
they have. never heard 'before;' Prepared.
Solo free Skating, for those from Junior
• Bronze to Senior Silver level of skating and
Ice Dancing, for those from Preliminary to
Senior Silver level: • '
Mr, Rodney added that spectators from
all the communities are invited to come out
and watch the competition, which will begin
at 7 a.m, and run until 11 p.m. The younger
children will, be competing in the morning;
• with.the seniors set to begin at approximate- -
ly 6:30 p.m." •

these 'competitions have included 'Kevin
Wheeler Of Brussels, .Lloyd Eisler and
Laurie. Beier; and more recently Peter
'MacDonald, of Brussels and Kerry Shepherd
of Blyth. They won the senior trophy for ice
dancing in Mitchell last year, then went on.

COUNCILLORS PAID
Seaforth Town Council approved a total
payment of $2,245 for meetings attended:
by members of council during the monthof
January, at its regular February session
of council. •
Mayor Alf Ross received $460 for his •
,attendance at eight committee meetings
and one regular session of council.
„Councillor CarelkuuuteDoig received $435 for
attertilibeilidititMber of meetings.
• CounCillorRobert Dinsmore received $390
for attending seven committee meetings
and one session of council; Councillor Gamy
Osborn 'received $300 for five committee
meetings and one session' of council; Coun-
cillor Harry Hak received $210 for atten-
ding, three committee meetings and one
session of council; Councillor. Peg Camp-
bell and Deputy -Reeve Hold Hildebrand-
, received $165 for attending two committee
meetings and one session of council and
Reeve Bill Bennett received $120 for atten-

Foundation of Ontario February has been
proclaimed Heart and Stroke /with in

At the some time permission was given
to the Seaforth Branch of the Canadian
Canter Society to sell daffodils to the
public on Saturday?, April 4, 1987. Money
raised through the sate of daffodils wilgo
toward cancer research.

taxi was stopped and the subsequent ar-
rest and preservation of evidence showed
your officers acted in a very capable and
professional manner." '
-LIGHTS ERECTED
• Town council has approvecttliegxection,
of two poles and street fights in the West
William street area at a price obtained
from the Public Utility Commissioa for in-
clusion in the 1987 street light capital
budget.
The decision was made following a
recommendation from the town's
Transportation and Environment comfit -
tee, after it received a mutat for street
lighting from builders of a new home on
West William Street.
Council's representative on the commit-
tee said the decision to install more than
one street light was made based on the
idea their presence might foster subdivi-
sion expansion in that area.
Depending on the number of poles and
lights installed the cost could range bet-
ween $1,200 to $3.500.
CONSIDER GRANT
Town Council has forwarded a recom-
mendation to its Finance and General
Government Committee from the Recrea-
tion and Parks Committee that the Op-
timist Club receive a grant of $1,000 in 1987
to help -offset capital costs.

Seaforth Town Council passed a by-law
enabling it to fax the Seaforth Community
Hospital',
According to section 160 of the Municipal
Act Council levied a fax of 0,200 on the
Atotth tonirriuniti Hospital for 1981.

a total capacity of 44 beds. The tax ,
is due and payable on July 1.1987.
Town Ceanaalso pasted a by-law

A third hy4aw passed by council
