I have just had listed a large number of first-

of every description cannot bo beaten.
Now these farms are for sale at a very rea-
sonable figure, end I ask the intending purchas-
er of a farm to come and see me, and I will
show him es good farms for the money as leo
can buy anywhere in the country,
Remember, I do not take farms to sell at an
exorbitant price. If I do not think they are
worth what is „sited for them I will have no-
thing to do with them. It is property that will
sell that I want, and that is what I have got.

How Fruit Gro ers Lose Money.I
Strongly word warning to fruit
growers and farm rs will appear in the'
September issue o ' The Cauadiau Horti-
calturist, which i. the official organ of
the Ontario Fruit Growers' Association,
against selling their fruit crops
to irresponsible •uyers. These buyers
aro those who +o not live or own
any property or sections where they
buy their crops The Horticulturist
claims that tens •f thoueands of dollars
are lost annuall throughout Canada,!
by the frandulen methods practised by
these buyers. Tl e first year they buy a
few thousand bar els in one section, and
pay cash for the thereby establishing
reputation with = any growers, as re-
sponsible buyers. The following year,
they take advanta•0 of this reputation
to contract for la e quantities of fruit,
but do not pay for t, putting the growers
off with one exuu-: or another. When
some growers are spicious, and demand
payment, they pa immediately, but in
the majority of c ses, they manage to
ship the fruit out of the section without
paying for it. L, ter they tell growers
tales of losses an • say they are unable
to pay the full va • e of their fruit and
offer to settle at • 0 to 30 cents on the
dollar. Grower•. are advised by The
Horticulturist wh .n dealing with buyers
they are not tho • • ghly acquainted with
to demand securi ' for their fruit, or
only deal with to al buyers who have
property at stake in the community.
One of the best s.othods of avoiding
danger of this hint has been for growers
to co-operate and deal directly with
large wholesale bu ers. The case of the
Ontario buyer wh • two years ago de-
frauded the fr • it growers of the
Annapolis Valle in Nova Scotia out
of $30,000 to $40,000 worth of fruit is
mentioned.
