High per- sonal bests were achieved by many - even those who felt they would never bowl over 200. With scores of 275, 250 and 226 - a total of 751- Neil Beuerman led the Boomers in their win against The Big E's. Eric Matzold, the Big E himself, commanded his team with games of 237, 228 and 201- totalling 666. Pat Ryan came on strong for the Boomers with scores of 279, 211 and 143 for a total of 633. Carol Bennewies countered with 279,166 and 159 - a total of 604 for the Big E's. SEAFORTH RECREATION DEPT. Fall Programs '88 FURNITURE REFINISHING - will be held at the High School on Monday evenings from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. for 10 weeks beginning on Monday, October 3. Registration fee,is $30.00 and your instructor will be Harvey Beuerman. INTERIOR DECORATING COURSE - will be held at the High School on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 - 9 p.m. for 8 weeks beginning on Tuesday, October 4. Registration fee is $25.00 and your instructor will be the staff of Campbell's Horne Centre. The.course will include: interior decorating, product application, fabrics, layout, window, wall and floor decorafing including carpets, Please PRE -REGISTER at 527-0882. MICROWAVE COOKING - will be held at the High School on Tuesdays from 7:30 - 9:30 p,m. for 3 weeks beginning on Tuesday, October 11. MIXED ADULT VOLLEYBALL - will be held at the High School on Wednesdays from 8 - 10 p.m, for 20 weeks, beginning October 5. Registration fee Is $30.00 and your instructor will be Terri Dale, This Is a fun, recreational program for all adults. MIXED ADULT BASKETBALL - will be held at the High School on Thursdays from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. for 20 weeks, beginning on Thursday, October6. Registration fee is $30.00 and your in- • structor will be Marc Robinet. CHILDREN'S TAP DANCE - will be held at the High School on Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Two different age groups (3-7 years and 8 and up). Bowling strong games of 259, 224.and 224 - totalling 707 - Dan Bennewies led the Will- Nots with help from Ralph Johnson who scored 222, 210 and 202 to total 632. For the Aces, Marty Bedard reeled a 286 in his last game and finished with a high total of 642. He was aided by Brian Dale, who, after a long layoff from using his left hand, rolled 204, 185 and 185 for a total of 574. Doug Procter and Joanne Knight combin- ed their efforts to lead the Wanderers to a 5 to 2 win over the Bowl Shippers. Scores of 233, 223 and 123 - a 592 total - and 190, 170 and 170 - totaumg 537,7 were bowled respective- ly. Honorable mention goes to Diana Steep who rolled an amazing (I don't believe it!) game of 226. Sailing back for the Bowl Ship- pers was Doug Leonhardt with games of 225, 218 and 186 - a total of 629. Don Deighton also registered high scores of 266,195 and 158 for a total of 619. Nominations are now being taken for the Seaforth Recreation and Parks Commit- tee's ANNUAL CITIZENSHIP AWARDS. Each fall the committee presents three valuable people of Seaforth with awards. The three categories are: 1. SERVICE TO SPORTS - A person that volunteers his/her time to sports organiza- tions or sports in general in Seaforth. 2. CIVIC SERVICE - A person that belongs to a service club or community organiza- tions in which he/she contributes many hours of time for the betterment of the community. 3. HUMANITARIAN SERVICE - A person who is considerate of mankind, and is will- ing to give his/her time to help other people. These awards are chosen based on the in- dividuals contribution to the community in a VOLUNTEER CAPACITY. Anyone may nominate an individual for any category by submitting the person's name and reasons why to the SEAFORTH RECREATION DEPARTMENT, P.O. BOX 885, SEAFORTH, ONT. NOK 190. These awards will be presented at the BIA's Annual Christmas Dinner and Dance. Deadline for nominations is' October 14, 1988.
