Although it was a very hot day a slight breeze was noticeable out under the trees. Residents enjoyed seeing, holding and talk- ing with the children. The oldest lady pre- sent was Mary K. Ryan and the eldest man George Fox. In the lucky draws Shawna Jessome won the doll while Danny Morris won the truck. Guessing the macaroni in the jar was Max- ine Elliott and celebrating birthdays were Leanne Jamieson and Debbie Hill. Everyone enjoyed ice cream and lemonade for refreshments. A bus trip had been scheduled for Thurs- day but due to the extreme heat it was cancelled. Father C. Caruana conducted mass on Friday afternoon and Resident Council held their monthly meeting on Wednesday at 2 p.m. A number of residents played cards on Thursday afternoon and tried to keep cool PERSONALS Edith Jessome enjoyed an outing last Tuesday with her daughter Susan Mennell and family. Don and Sheila Morton visited with Nor- ma Jeffrey. Ethel Haist took Mamie Ross for an outing and also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davidson. Doreen Kelly visited with Frank and Margaret Smale. Visiting with Cassie Nicholson were her daughter Barbara Alexander, also Ross and Lillian Nicholson of Egmondville. On Wednesday Isabel Scott visited with husband Bill and Rose and Pat Altman visited the Netzke's. Don and Jean Papple visited the latter's father Mel Hulley. Gladys Ruston spent the day with her family in Stratford. Visiting with Mary K. Ryan last Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. Edw. J. Toger of David- , son, Michigan. Gladys and Jack Van Egmond of Clinton visited with Mabel Handy on Saturday. Lawrence and Nelson Ryan visited with Marjorie Ryan. Marjorie Ryan was visited on Saturday by her grandson Mike Ryan's wedding party and had her picture taken with them. The wedding party were Mr. and Mrs. Mike Ryan (formerly Kathy Humphries) with Sandra Sholdice (maid of honor) and Danny Achillies (best man). Also visiting with - Marjorie were Don and Joan McDonald, Grant, Heather, Mark and Patricia of Pineford, Quebec and Monica and Jack Ryan, Maria Gooverts was out for the day, on Sunday with her daughter Elsa Ruston. Geraldine and Anne Wilson visited Mary K. Ryan; Susan and Joe Barabos of Guelph visited their uncle Elmer Bakcsy on Monday. Patrick Ryan is enjoying an overnight stay with his sister and her family at their cottage at Bayfield. A nice thank you card was received by staff from Betty Huisser and everyone was glad to hear Betty is recovering from her re- cent surgery. As Betty is a long time employee of Seaforth Manor her many friends will be glad to see her return again. Tt.
