CHRISTINA VAN POUCKE was honored at
the Mother -Daughter banquet hosted
recently by the Seaforth Brownies and
Guides. Presenting Christina with her all
round cord, pin and certificate was Carol
Waite of Mitchell, Silvermaple District Com-
missioner. Judy Hamon of the Seaforth LA
also present Christina with a Girl Guide pla-
que. Christina started out as a Brownie six
years ago, flying up to Guides three years
ago and now on to Pathfinders. In Guides
she completed the two cordes and eight
segments as well as 50 possible badges.
She aslo spent a week last summer at
Camp Keewadyn. Each Guide was
presented with a camp crest and Guide pen
from the Seaforth L.A. In this photograph

The Seaforth Girl Guides put their artistic
minds to work and made flowered wall
hanging hats as a gift for mom for Mother's
Day.
On May 11 the girls spent an enjoyable
evening on the Hill's farm, as they took part
in a scavenger hunt and a wiener roast,
May 18 was a fun filled night of games.
May 25 was the end -of -the -year party,
where each girl brought a friend. Games
were played and refreshments served.
May 31 marked the Mother/daughter ban-
quet, After enjoying a roast beef dinner, the
district c )mmissioner, Carol White,
presented Christina Van Poucke with her all
round cord, pin and certificate for com-
pleting the girl guide program. Carol also
presented Christina with a certificate for
best cookie seller for 1987. She sold 16 cases
of cookies.
In the month of May - Erin, Christina and
Kelly earned their bird watcher badge.
Heather and Kelly earned the World
Neighbors badge by taking part in the Guide
Rally in Mitchell. Christina and Heather
earned their photographer badge. Christina
finished her woodworker and creative
crafts, and Lisa earned her child care,
teamsport, skater's and collector's.
Clinforth Dairy Club
reviews different
stomacher
The third meeting of the Clinfortn Dairy
was held on May 4 at the Murray home.
Minutes of the last meeting were read.
Leaders and members discussed having a
Reach For The Top team and doing a
demonstration. These events are held later
in the year.
The members learned about the four dif-
ferent stomachs and how they work.
Members then went to the barn to judge
cows.
The next meeting will be held on May 16 at
VanDenElzen's.
Meeting 4
The fourth meeting of the Clinforth Dairy
was held on May 16 at the home of John and
Marilyn VanDenEizen. Dennis Martin was
there and talked to members about feeding
and managing dairy calves.
They learned how to feed a calf from when
it's born until after it calves. Members then
did a crosword puzzle that reviewed the
lesson.
The next meeting will be held on June 22
at Patty Slotegraaf's.
