On Friday, May 13 the ladies had a clean- ing bee at the club house and also had their spring meeting with 16 ladies present. A garage and bake sale is planned for Saturday May 28 at 9 a.m. with plans for it to be finalized at the men's meeting on Mon- day night. The greens are looking very good and the itself for season opening date is May 23, with bowling at 2 p.m. (weather permitting) followed by a pot luck supper at 5:30 p.m., and cards or bowl- ing after. The Senior Games Lawn Bowling will be May 27 starting at 1:30 p.m. Some ladies have already started their Monday afternoon bowling and new bowlers are always welcome. THE HURON EXPOSITOR, MAY 18, 1988 — 11A PEOPLE David Huether, a teacher at W.J. Fenton High School in Brampton and a graduate of the Brussels Public School and Wingham High School, wai one of 30 outstanding in- dividuals who received an Award of Ex- cellence from the Peel County Board of Education during Education Week. Ten of the recipients were teachers, 10 were students and 10 from the community, Mr. Huether received his plaque in recognition of his work as head of the Science Department of the school, as well as for his volunteer work in coaching such sports as wrestling and basketball at WJFHS, and, for his volunteer work in hockey and baseball in the community. He also teaches hockey school in the summer. Mr. Huether's son Jeffrey played hockey in Maple Leaf Gardens on Good Friday as a member of the top team of seven -year-olds in Brampton this past winter. It was a real thrill to him. His other son, six-year-old Kevin is an avid hockey and, baseball player too.
