EASTER SUNDAY SERVICE
Sunday morning Easter Service was held
at Duff's United Church in Walton with Rev.
Bonnie Lamble giving the Easter message.
The choir sang three anthems assisted by
organist Glenda Carter and Gloria Wilbee
with her guitar.
Several Easter Lilies were delivered to
the shut-ins after the service. Ushers were
Blaine Marks and John Gillis.
Next Sunday the United Church Women
Thankoffering will be held at 7:30 pm with a
special speaker and music. The U.C.W. ex-
ecutive meets Wednesday, April 6 at 1 p.m.

Thames in London.
Manny Taylor is home from Seaforth
hospital following surgery, we hope he is
feeling better.
Easter visitors on Sunday with Ray and

Fischer, Listowel and Steven Huether,
Toronto was home for the weekend.

Natsuko is on an exchange in Acton, On-
tario and Satoka is spending her year in
Hull, Quebec.

spent the Easter weekend with their parents

Pte. Joe Ryan of Pembroke and Pte. John
Ryan of London spent the Easter weekend
with Ron and Mary Ryan and family.
Dave and Joanne Regier and family of
Kitchener were with Ab and Eileen Cronin
on Good Friday.
Leo and Dianne Cronin and family of Mit-
chell visited with Alphonse and Annie
Cronin on Tuesday, March 29 and Bob and
Theresa Admans of Stratford visited with
Theresa's parents on Wednesday, March 30.

A spring 4-H club called "Encounter the
Outdoors" is going to start soon. If you are

Mary Ellen Knight and her brother Bruce
visited in the March break in Florida with
their parents Ross and Betty Knight and
grandmother, Ellen Knight who celebrated
her 90th birthday March 21.
Mr. and Mrs. Carman Smith, Walkerton,
and Mabel Smith, Brussels, were recent
visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith.
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Crawford,
Shelbourne, visited on March 27 with Don
and Mrs. Cotton.
The Cranbrook Women's Institute were in
charge of the birthday party for the month
of March at the Callander Nursing Home,
Brussels. The Grade 5 and 6 classes from
Grey Central, under the direction of
Margaret Whitmore, entertained with
musical numbers and solos. The students
then took birthday presents to the residents
celebrating birthdays in March. Lunch was
served by the students and Women's In-
stitute members.
Friends, relatives and neighbors gathered
at the Community Centre on Thursday night
for a bridal shower to honor Pam Engel.
Lois Hart and Nancy Vanass conducted a
game and gave readings. Sandra Huether
Marlen Vincent of Vincent Farm Equipment, Seaforth was
presented with the Eastern Canada High Volume Combine Sales
Plaque for. 1987 at their 20 year, 20/65 Anniversary on March

MAYOR'S ESSAY CONTEST
Here is your chance! In honour of the upcoming Local Government Week,
Mayor Alfred Ross is sponsoring an essay contest. So, within 1000 words, write
down what you would do if you were Mayor for a day. What would be your
priorities? What issues would you tackle? How would you lead Seaforth into the
1990's?
The Contest is open to all ages. There will be one winner in each age group as
follows: infant - 15; 16 to 25; and over 25. All entries should be on 8 x 11"
paper and be legible. Be sure to put your name, address, age and phone number
on your entry. The entry DEADLINE is 4:30 P.M. on FRIDAY, APRIL 8,
1988.
Winners will receive a copy of the new "Seaforth Beginnings" book, a town pin
and lunch with the Mayor! Winning entries will also be submitted to the Huron
Expositor and may be published.
