"BOUNTY"
Recently the Branch held a Poster and
Literary contest and the winners will go on
to a zone competition. Seaforth has two win-
ners who will compete in a district contest to
be held at a later date. Julie. Medd won for
her entry in the Junior Poster and Karen
Nigh won for her first place in the In-
termediate Essay. They both received a
diploma and a cheque to go with it. These
girls are wished the best of luck in the
district competition. Both girls are atten-
ding St. James Separate School.
Despite the weather of last Saturday, the
Legion's Honors and Awards banquet was
attended by about 80 members and wives.
Guests present included District Com-
mander Glenn Bridge and Zone Commander
Steve Maguire and their wives. A number of
long service pins were awarded to members
of the Branch and a Life Membership was
presented to Comrade Peter Malcolm. Life
Memberships are the second highest honor
the Legion canbestow on their members for
their past years of service. Comrade
Malcolm held a number of Executive posi-
tions besides being President for two years.
It is hoped he will enjoy this honor for a
number of years in the future. Once again on
behalf of the Branch "Congratulations".
The members of the Branch would like to
offer congratulations to Comrade Ned
Boswell on his 100th Birthday last Wednes-
day. Comrade Ned is our oldest WWI
Veteran still living. It is hoped he will have
many more birthdays to come.

a Beef Barbeque for Saturday, March 19
with a social at 6 - 7 p.m. and the meal -to be
served from 7 - 8 p.m. A dance will follow
