'Learning love' is theme of Walton. women's unit meeting

Walton 1 unit held their February meeting
Wednesday evening in the church base-
ment. Devotions on the Theme, `Learning
Love' was led by Viola Kirkby. Pianist was
Doreen Blackwell.
The scripture from Corinthians was read
by Melva Fraser. Margery Huether read
suitable poems on Love. Prayer was led by
Mrs. Fraser. Then Mrs. Huether directed a
song on Love. Mrs. Kirkby read "Where
there is Love".
Marjorie Humphries gave a timely
message on Learning Love.
Business was led by Marie McGavin.
Audrey Hackwell read minutes and thank
you cards. Nineteen ladies answered the roll
call on the 'Colors of the Church Year'.
Doreen Hackwell gave the treasurer's
report. Membership fees were collected.
Dates to remember for coming events
are: World Day of Prayer Service at ,the
Mennonite Church in Brussels, at 10:15 a.m.
Thankoffering service at Duff's Church is
planned for April 10 at 7:30 p.m. Plans for
lunch to be made at March meeting. New
Programs for the coming year were given
out. U.C.W. will hold an executive meeting
in April with a general meeting in March.
After the closing benediction a tasty lunch
was served by Olene Dennis and Gloria
Wilbee.
WALTON II UNIT
Margaret Bennett was hostess in her
home for the Walton II unit, Wednesday
February 10. Nine members were in
attendance.
Pearl McCallum and Karen Hoegy led in
the devotions followed with a discussion.
New President Kathleen Williamson con-
ducted business and Margaret Craig
assisted with the reading of minutes. Wed-
ding suppers and Blyth suppers were
discussed and dates given out. The unit Beef
Barbecue date is set for June 11 - 5-7 p.m.
Copper captains were chosen then sides
were drawn up.
The meeting closed with a time of
fellowship when refreshments were served
by lunch hostesses.

The Canadian Foresters Woodbine M100
met on February 9 in the Community Centre
with 13 members present. Absent from the

RR 2, Seaforth, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ward,

where he underwent surgery. Sister Beryl

beef draw will be available at the March
meeting which is to be a potluck supper.

University Hospital, London, to the

The Hall Board euchre scheduled for Fri-
day night had to be cancelled owing to
weather conditions. The Foresters hope to
have better weather next week, February
19, when they will host the euchre at 8:30.
