Queensway residents
look forward to bingos
Monday afternoon Queensway residents
played Bingo with the Kippen United
Church Ladies. Everyone is looking forward
to a month of Monday afternoons with these
ladies and the special prizes they bring.,,
Tuesday morning the Activity Room was
the scene of much exertion as residents
worked out at fun and fitness. Reverend
Sinasac joined residents in the afternoon
and led a wonderful service on "God's
Love". Phillipa Steckler was the pianist.
Wednesday several residents enjoyed a
tea party. They listened to some relaxing
music and did lots of visiting.
On Thursday the Baking Club met.
Members baked chocolate chip cookies. The
most fun part of Baking Club is the sampl-
ing. Residents gathered in the dining room
for a singsong before supper. In the evening
residentsr were ready to relax with the
movie feature.the Walt Disney film "Lady
and the Tramp."
Friday afternoon Library Hour took
place. Residents browsed through lots of
literature and were treated to several
poetry readings by Luella Hall.
Valentine's Day will soon be here and all
are looking forward to the party on
February 14 with the Alfred Ropp orchestra.
NED BOSWELL who will be celebrating his 100th birthday on February 10 was visited
by friends and family at an open house at the Seaforth Curling Club. Ross Ribey

The Hensall United Church Women met
February 1, in the church parlour. Diane
Gerstenkorn chaired the meeting. A poem
"Love" was read. Twenty members
answered the roll by telling a childhood
memory. A Bazaar will be held in October.
The Beef Barbecue will be held April 14 with
two settings.
Kay Mock had charge of the program, the
topic being "Creation in Crisis" based on
the problems of the Canadian Farmer. Kay
Elder led the devotional "The Holy Spirit",
Hazel Corbett read the scripture and Vera
Ross played the piano for the hymns.
The next U.C.W. meeting will be held
March 7 at 1:30 p.m. Diane closed the
meeting with the U.C.W. prayer. Hostesses
were group C.
SHUFFLEBOARD RESULTS
Shuffleboard Scores for February 2 were
Ladies' high - Irene Finlayson 346, Emma
Campbell 292, Eileen Howson 238. High scor-
ing men were - Dave Kyle 367, Ross
Richardson 319, Walter Spencer 309.
/ CHURCH NEWS
The Sunday worship service at Hensall
United Church was led by Ken Van Allen
assisted by Doug Mock. Doug Mock used the
example of a storm on the Sea of Galilee to
explain to the children about the strone faith
that Jesus had. Mr. Van Allen gave an in-
spiring message on The Reality of Faith.
Next Sunday will be Youth Sunday with
Sharon Wurm leading the service assisted
by the Junior Choir.
The Official Board of Herman United
Church will meet on Tuesday, February 16.
Please note this change from the regular
meeting schedule. Executive will meet at
7:30 p.m., Committees at 8 p.m., and Full
Board at 8:30 p.m. Please make sure all
committees have a chairperson present.
Last week the flowers at church wo_
from the funerals of and in loving memory
of Howard Scone, Ahna Horton and Stanley
Mitchell, who was at one time a member of
this church. Mr. Cowan extended sympathy
to the families.
Worshippers were met at the door by John
Thomson and were shown to their seats by
BIll Scotchmer, Randy Parker, Mervyn
Fields and Cecil Pepper.
UNITED CHURCH WOMEN
Gladys Coleman was the hostess for the
Wednesday afternoon group of the Hensall
United Church Women on February 4.
Leader Elva Forrest opened the meeting
with a poem "Love one another as I have
loved you." As the theme for her devotion
Sadie Hoy used "To be spent spreads
gladness." Sadie read II Corinthians verses
12-15 followed by a poem "The Self Lover".
Sadie read another poem "My Friend".

The offering was given and dedicated by
Elva Forrest. Eighteen members answered
the roll call and 62 visits were made.
Business was discussed, minutes and cor-
respondence were read.
The World Day of Prayer will be held on
March 4 at Carmel Presbyterian Church.
There will be a Huron -Perth meeting at
Trinity United Church in Listowel on April
18.
Hilda Payne and Olga Chipchase gave a
detailed reort on the business conducted at
the Presbyterials of Huron and Perth which
they attended recently.
The meeting closed with the Mitzbah
Benediction. Lunch was served by Gladys
Coleman and Elva Forrest.
TOWN BOOK DROP
The Book Drop at the Village Office is now
ready for use. If you want to return Library
books that are not overdue you may drop
them in the slot located by the new West
door of the Town Hall. Overdue books must
be returned and fines paid during normal
library hours.
The Library has just completed another
quarterly book exchange. Plans are under-
way for a March break program and pre-
school story hour beginning in March. If you
are interested in a weekly story time for tod-
dlers and/or are willing to help, call the
library 262-2445 or drop in during regular
hours.
