Queensway residents enjoy England topic at International Dail Queensway residents loosened up at Fun and Fitness in the Activity Room on Tues- day morning. In the afternoon they welcom- ed Reverend Alles as he led the worship service. Wednesday afternoon several residents bowled in Zurich with Iva Reid. They really enjoy this monthly outing. In the evening residents were treated to a special program by the Pioneer Children's group of the Ex- eter Pentecostal church. Residents also were pleased to be presented with a large banner made by the children. Thursday Residents' Council met and this was followed by the monthly Birthday Par- ty. Joyce Pepper entertained by playing many requests at the piano. Birthday Greetings to Mary Parhner, Ada Ball and David Watson. The Thursday evening movie feature was "Pride and Prejudice". Friday was an exciting day for residents as England was featured at the Interna- tional Day. There was lots of fascinating memorabilia to browse through, loaned by Irene Davis and Elva Forrest. Irene Davis presented a very interesting slide presenta- tion on several locations and attractions in England. She ended her presentation by focusing on Hensall, England. Afterwards residents dined on toasted English muffins loaded with black current jam and of course lots of tea. It was a super afternoon. Saturday morning Coby and Irvine Amoraal and their two little daughters from Clinton joined residents. Coby anti Irvine sang several of their own special composi- tions as well as many folk and gospel favorites. February's coming events that residents are anticipating are: February 14, A Valen- tine celebration with Alfred Ropp's Or- chestra from 2 - 4 p.m. and on February 26,N International Day featuring France. Hensall society planning spring fair sale and bake sale during the Community Yard Sale in May. All donations are welcome. The homecraft prize list is now available from various merchants, Hensall Library, and any Fair Board Committee member. The executive for this year are: President - Bevin Kinsman; First Vice -President, Don Dearing, Second Vice -President, Ross Cor- bett; Secretary -Treasurer, Judith Parker; Homecraft President, Helen Toonstra and Directors, Stewart Brown, Sandra Turner, Jack Kinsman, Cecil Pepper, John Baker, Harold Parsons, Les Coleman, Bill Kerslake, Marlene Bell, Uwe Wisch and Dave Turner. The 1987 Hensall Fair was very successful both financially and in attendance. The Fair Board is planning an even bigger and better fair for this year. Don't forget - June 10 and 11. Prize winners were: - Ladies' high, Babe McGregor; ladies' low, Vera Ross; gents' high, George Dowson; gents' low, Doug Westlake; lone hands, Pearl Taylor. Winners in the draw were: - Doris Westlake, Ross Richardson, Mabel McKnight, Vera Ross, Eileen Westlake, Beatrice Richardson and Pearl Taylor. The next euchre party will be held February 23 at 8 pop. at the I.O.O.F. hall. The cost is $1.50. Ladies please bring lunch. AGRICULTURE SOCIETY The Hensall South Huron Agricultural Society Meeting and potluck supper was held on Monday, January 25 in the arena. With 32 members in attendance, Presi- dent Bevin Kinsman welcomed the guests: Dolores Shapton, OAAS Homecraft Presi- dent; Sylvia Knechtel, District 8 Homecraft Representative; Roy Pepper, District 8 Director; Hensall Reeve Jim Robinson and Huron County Warden Bob Bell. This year the fair will be held on June 10 and 11 with livestock exhibits, Western Horse Show, Appaloosa Horse Show, Mid- way, Queen of the Fair Contest and many special events. The Homecraft Division, under the leadership of president Helen Toonstra and secretary Marlene Bell, is planning a yard SCOUTING NEWS 'Two young men, Jeff Clarke and Scott Murray, were invested last week into Hen- sall Rovers by District Commissioner Janet Cameron. On Tuesday, January 12, the scouts and their leaders were in Exeter to tour the Nabisco canning factory. Showing them through the facilities was Ron Hartman, an employee at the plant. This Thursday the Cubs will be going to the O.P.P station in Exeter where they will learn about law enforcement. Emerson and Doreen would like to thank relatives, neighbors and friends for the many gifts and cards they received on this happy occasion. Sophia MacGregor is now a patient in University Hospital in London. Sophia is wished a speedy recovery. Lorne Keays' sermon was called "Little Things Do Count". The Kippen United Church Women will meet Tuesday, February 9 at 8 p.m. in the Sunday School room. The topic will be "Stewardship", led by Helen McLean. For the roll call please bring a treat for Queensway.
