Reigning Queen for a day was Madge Remes who was born in Manchester England and Alfie Sykes born in Southport England. During the year it is hoped to have other countries represented on a given day. In the morning the film of t 9 ..:1 Wedding of Prince Charles and Diana was shown and Rev. Cheryl Ann Stadelbauer-Sampa showed slides and commented on her visit to England. Seven students from grade eight visited Seaforth Health Care Facility and assisted staff in taking a group of vWheelchair residents to the Hospital Auxiliary Penny Sale on their work day. Resident Doris Smith was the • ' JOHN KLAVER John Paul Klaver, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Klaver, Kippen, graduated with honors on May 11 from Centralia College of Agricultural Technology, in Agricultural Business Management. He is a former graduate of Central Huron Secondary School, Clinton. JOHN JEROME HICKNELL, of RR5 Sea - forth, graduated from the Ridgetown College -of Agricultural Technology with a diploma in Agricultural Production and Management on May 18. John is the son of Francis and Marie Hicknell, of RR5 Seaforth and he attended St. Columban Separate School, and Central Huron Secondary School. He plans to work for eight months on the International Agriculture Exchange Program. DONELDA STILES Donelda Jean Stiles, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Stiles 111 Charles Street, Stratford graduated from the "Performing Arts Music Program" of Applied Arts and Technology, Cambrian College, Sudbury, Ontario on Saturday May 26th, 1984. In the past three years Donelda has been a member of Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, Youth Orchestra, Brass Band and Assistant Pianist ��f Calvary Baptist Church. Donelda was awarded the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra Scholarship for percussion. She attended Brussels Public, Avon Public and King Lear Senior Public Schools and is a graduate of Northwestern Secondary School. Her grand- mother, Mrs. Alex Steiss, Brussels, the formerRubena Cleaver, was a music teacher and church organist in Ethel, Ontario in the 1920s. Donelda plans to continue music. MERIBETH A. SCOTT is a recent graduate of the Food Service Management Course at Centralia College, Huron Park. She is the daughter of Murray and Wilma Scott, RR1 Belgrave. AT YORK MBA parents The Stratford and District Parents of Twins and Triplets Club was represented by Esther Cantelon of R.R. #4 Seaforth and Wanda Brown of R.R. #6, Woodstock at the Parents of Multiple Births Association 7th annual national convention from May 10 to 13 in Ottawa. Approximately 300 parents of twins and triplets from across Canada met at the University of Ottawa. Some of the topics included: Understanding the Issues of Personal Identity of Multiple Birth Children, Language Development, Impact of a Multiple Birth on the Family Discipline, Family. ESSIE CAMPBELL Esther (Essie) Ellen Campbell, 76, of RR1 Seaforth, died Wednesday, May 23 at Seaforth Community Hospital. Born in McKillop Township, she was a daughter of the late William Kerr and the former Sarah Ann Beattie. She was a member of Winthrop United Church and the Edel- weiss Rebekah Lodge, Seaforth. Surviving are her husband, George R. Campbell, three daughters, Mabel, Mrs. Harry Nesbitt, of Stratford; Muriel, Mrs. Walter McClure, of McKillop Township and Marjorie, Mrs. Hardy Dillon, of Elmira, two sons, Arnold and Leslie, both of McKillop Township, two brothers, Eldin Kerr, of Clinton and Scott, of Dorchester, 19 grand- children and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two grandsons. Funeral services were held Friday, May 25 at the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home. Inter- ment Maitlandbank Cemetery. Donations to the Seaforth Community Hospital will be received as expressions of sympathy. Pallbearers were Ken Campbell, Ross Gordon, Bill Campbell, Robby Kerr, Bill Smith and Harvey McLlwain. Flowerbearers were Danny Kerr, Dennis Kerr, Barry Gordon, Wayne Scott and Laverne Scott. LILLIAN JONES Lillian Frieda (Finkbeiner) Jones, 89, of the Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich, formerly of Hensall, died Saturday, May 26 at South Huron Hospital, Exeter. The daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Finkbeiner of Stephen Township, she was predeceased by her husband Herbert Jones in May 1982 and by one daughter, Margaret Keys: Surviving are one son, Harold Jones, of RR2 Hensall, four grandchildren and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the T. Harry Hoffman and Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood on Tuesday, May 29 with Rev. Stan McDonald, of Hensall officiating. Interment Crediton Cemetery. VIOL1rT QUANCE Violet Quance, 94, of Bracebridge, former- ly of Cromarty, died Wednesday, May 16 at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital: Born in Cromarty May 18, 1889, she was a daughter of the late -Anthony Allen and the former Margaret Wilson. She was prede- ceased by her husband, Richard Bailey Quance in 1965. Surviving are three daughters Mildred, Mrs. Colin MacDougald, of Bracebridge; Dorothy, Mrs. Edwin Taylor, of Hensall and Mae Quance of London, one brother, Stanley Allen, of Edmonton, one grandson, Gary Quance, of Staffa, and five great grandchild- ren. She was also predeceased by one son, Allen in 1960 and 10 brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held at the Lockhart Funeral Home on Saturday, May 19 with Rev. Kenneth Knight officiating. Van Slyke's last visit until September and he wished all residents a happy summer.
