Senior bowiers finish
Ladies of the Orange Hall served a
delicious turkey banquet to the senior citizen
bowling club Thursday night with 54
attending.
Our six high scoring men for the season
were Oliver Pryce average -549.3, Harold
Pridham 542.4, Philip James 533.4, Harvey
Dow523, Lou Coyne 517.1, Andy Lunn 486.4
and Roy McGonigle 481.6.
Ladies high average were N. Murphy 543,
Pearl James 499.1, Rachel Riehl 473.9, Olive
Papple 465 and Hazel McGonigle 430.
Prizes for the most improved bowler went
to lady, Ethel Haist and man, Roy
McGonigle.
The lady closest to 299 was Laura Murray
and the man was Tom Carter. Closest to the
score of 399 were lady, Bea Storey and man,
Wilfred Tremeer.

Obituaries
van DONKERSGOED
Luke Allan van Donkersgoed, 22, of R. R.3,
Brussels died Sunday Apr.. 29.
Surviving are his parents, Bertus and
Grace van Donkersgoed, two sisters,
Christine, of Guelph and Bernice, of London,
one brother, Gerald, of Vancouver, B.C., and
paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit
van Donkersgoed of Drayton. He was
predeceased by his maternal grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs, Lucas van Dijk.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday,
May 2 at 2 p.m. at the Knox Presbyterian
Church, Listowel. Donations to the Brain
Research Fund at Victoria Hospital, London
or the Canadian Cancer Society will be
accepted as expressions of sympathy.
BUURS
Phyllis Isabella (McCool) Buurs, 51, of
R.R.1, Londesboro, died Wednesday, Apr.
25. at Clinton Public Hospital.
Surviving are three daughters, Michelle, of
R.R.1, Londesboro, Carol, Mrs. Harry
Thompson, of R.R.1, Staffa and Melanie,
Mrs. James Fitton, of Clinton, two sons,
Kevin, of Stratford and Chris, of R.R.1,
Londesboro, and five grandchildren. She was
predeceased by one grandchild.
Funeral services were held at the Ball and
Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton on Saturday
Apr. 28. Interment Clinton Cemetery.

son on Thursday, Apr. 12, Daniel Gerry,
weighing 7 lbs. 5 oz. in Stratford General
Hospital. A wee brother for Kimberly.
DURST: John and Dawna are proud "to
present their daughter Susan Devon. She
was born Easter Sunday, Apr. 22 at K -W
Hospital, Kitchener and weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz.
Susan is a baby sister for Cara, and
granddaughter of Frank and Amelda Rey-
nolds of Harpurhey, and Bill and Jean Durst
of Egmondville. Susan is the great grand-
daughter of , Clara Aikens of Ritz Villa,
Mitchell.
Huron -Perth presbyt
"Our Church in Society" was the theme for
a special event held in Wingham United
Church, Wingham, for the Huron -Perth
Presbyterial of United Church Women.
Singing was led by Jeanette Wardrop
accompanied by Hilda Grant at the piano.
The 350 ladies present were welcomed by
Presbyterial president, Mrs. Muriel Coultes;
Rev. Rea Grant of the host church and Mrs.
Audrey Tiffin, co -president of the host UCW.
McCLURE: Fred and Heidi McClure are

child Darrell Harvey on Apr. 24, weighing 8
lbs., 3'/2 oz. at Stratford General Hospital.

The guest speaker was Joanne Fairhart,
freelance writer for the United Church
Observer. The topic for the evening was
"Pornography". Ms. Fairhart stated that we
are living in a broken, hurting world. Many
problems are caused by pornography which is
a five hundred million dollar industry in
Canada, She said that pornography is simply
a harmful product which must be regulated.

Ronald McDonald house possible in London
children. The house will help people outside
the London area maintain as normal a family
life as possible during the stressful time of
their child's illness.

for the early part of May, in London, to
provide interested individuals with informa-
tion.

House in London. '
A Ronald McDonald House is being built to
accommodate families of children who are
referred to London's area hospitals for
treatment of serious illnesses. The house will
serve families from the surrounding counties,
including Huron, Perth, Bruce, Grey, Lamb -
ton; Essex, Middlesex, Elgin and Oxford.
