Program of the Church School of Duff's
United Church was held Monday evening

the program put on by the children of the
Sunday school assisted by teachers of each
class, Helen Craig, Maxme Marks, Gloria :

"The Spirit of Christmas" was put on by

Following the Christmas carols and Jingle
Bells, Santa arrived with bags of candies for
all the waiting children.
Following the Sunday Service, December
18, The Rev, Charles A. Swan was pleasantly
urprised when the UCW .presented him with
its Christmas present of a United Church
Crest silk stole.
The Candlelight Christmas Eve service and
the Sunday Christmas Day Service were both
cancelled due to the storm that hit that
weekend.

SEWAGE INCREASE?
Ever since the new sewage treatment
plant was installed. Brussels residents have
paid a 512.35, per month sewer charge.
During the past year, the village has paid
565,000 to have sewage treated.
Council was presented with a 1984 budget
from the Ministry of the Environment which
shows $125,541 will be charged in 1984.
"We're going to be short if we leave the
monthly rates the same." said Mr, King.
"To collect this amount. we would have to

she entertained her family, Lester Machan
