The Huron Expositor, 1984-11-28, Page 3 (2)BRUSSELS THE HURON EXPOSITOR, DECEMBER 5, 1984 — B3 Anorexia Nervosa discussed at 4-H Correspondent EDNA McLELLAN 887-9084 The Morris Township council held their annual Christmas party on Thursdayy evening with Reeve Bill and Mrs. Elston hosting the party at the Wingham Golf and Country Club. Approximately 40 people attended with representatives of the various area boards. Following a turkey dinner, the members of council spoke of happenings of the past year and what to expect in the future. Mr, Elston introduced Annie Reid of Walton who is the Morris Township recipient of the bicentennial award. Cards were played.•Elizabeth Procter was high lady; Doug Fraser, high man; Nancy Michie; low lady; Clem McLellan, low man; most•lone hands, for the women was won by :Harriett Miller and for the men Harold 'Johnston. ACHIEVEMENT NIGHT The 4-H Achievement night was held in the 'Brussels, Morris and Grey Community ;Centre on Wednesday. There were 29 clubs :represented. • Jane Muegge, the rural organization specialist for Huron County commented on the Fitness Fare program, and on the upcoming projects. Cathy Thomson, a nutritionist with the Huron County Health Unit, spoke on Anorexia Nervosa, She showed a film "Dieting -The Danger Point." Marilyn Chedu, a dietician at the John Noble Home in Brantford. spoke on what it is like to live with Anorexia and Bulimia. She had the illness for.15 years before coming to terms with herself on how to cope with it. v The awards presentation followed. There were 11 young ladies who received county honors,' seven received provincial honors, seven received advanced honors and one received the Huron County award for completing 24 clubs. PEOPLE WE KNOW The .Callendar Nursing Home of Brussels has received their accreditation certificate for two years. An introduction night will be held Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. at Melville Presbyterian Church,' Brussels, to present Precept Upon Precept. the Inductive Bible Study that is transforming individuals, families, churches and home ,Bible Study groups. The Santa Claus parade is on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. GRADER PURCHASED — Grey Township purchased a new Champion grader from Champion In Goderich. The grader cost the township $135000 after a trade-in. The worship service was in charge of Mrs, Harold Vincent and Mrs. Cliff Walsh. Mrs. George Johnston presided at the piano. Ladies quartette, Mrs. Les Shaw, Mrs, Jim Lamont, Mrs. Glean Coultes and Mrs, Bill Coultes, accompanied by Mrs, George Johnston, sang two songs. COUPLE WED Joan Marie Higgins and Murray David James were married on Nov. 24. The ceremony took place at the home of the bride's parents. Rev. John G. Roberts officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Higgins, RR 5 Brussels. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Glen James, RR 5 Brussels. Infant baptized in Cranbrook MRS.
