Mr. and Mrs. Murray Bray and Mr. and
Mrs. David Hutton held a surprise dinner
party in honor of their parents Glen and
Evelyn Bray on their 45th wedding anniver•
sary on Nov. 11. Mr. and Mrs. Bray reside in
Brussels.
The party was held at the home of their son
Murray and Gladys Bray, and family. Dinner
guests were David and Ruth Hutton, Kevin
and friend, Todd and friend and Kim Hutton
all of Listowel; Bob, Jean and Tracey Fischer
of Kincardine. Rob, Sandra and Ryan
Wayland of Kincardine, Allan and PhgIlis
McTaggart of Goderich, Bob and Ann
Ballantyne of Atwood, Randy and Ann

raise funds at bazaar
The Majestic Women's Institute held t etr
Education and Cultural Activities mcetin in
the Brussels Library on Nov. 14.
David Hemingway. guest speaker, showed
a film and spoke on Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
It is everyone's responsibility to he aware oi'
the various drugs, and try to help those who
have a drug problem.
Members decided to give a donation of $10.
to the Arthritis Society and $10. to the Poppy
Fund,
The 4-H achievement day is in the
Brussels, Morris and Grey Community
Centre on Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
The WI is having a dessert euchre on Dec. 3
at 7 p.m. Mrs. Jean Carpentier, Mrs. Peggy
Cudmore, Ida Evans and Jane DeVrics are
the committee in charge of the euchre.
The next meeting is a pot Tuck dinner at
noon. Members arc asked to bring food and

a lady returned home to Arthur with a size 12
coat instead of a size 16. Any information

The Majestic WI also held a successful
bazaar and bake sale on Friday afternoon in
the library. The draw winner of the knitted
afghan was Ruth Hinton. The afghan was
made by Peggy Cudmore and donated it In
the WJ to raise funds..41

Foresters get pins
A special occasion for Court Woodbine
#M10.0 Cranbrook of the Canadian Order of
Foresters was held Nov. 13.
At a dinner served by the UCW of
Trowbridge church 18 Foresters received
their 25 year pins from Bro. Ed Short. High
Chief Ranger and Bro. Norman Hill a
member of the executive committee from
Brantford.
Local Foresters receiving this honor were
Bro. Glen Bray, Bro. Kenneth Bray, Bro.
Robert Bremner, Bro, Robert Cunningham.
Bro. Leslie Knight, Bro. Charles Lake, Bro.
Mac McIntosh, Bro. Elston Spieran and
Sister Olga Speiran, Sister Pearl Brown, Bro.
Theodore Kumm. Bra Stanley McDonald
was master of ceremonies.
A program included several musical
selections by Lorne and 'Rita Mann of Howick
Township.
Bro, Short gave a brief summary of thc
plans for the future of the Foresters.
Bro. Norman Hill spoke of the Foresters
chief project which is cancer research. the
hospital equipment, wheelchairs, vans and
many other contributions made in the
community for special causes.
A pine cone wreath donated by Jack and
Jean Conley was won by Elston Speiran.
Draws were also won by Doug Conley,
Gordon Byers, Elston Speiran and Mrs. Ed
Short.
