SHORT SHOTS

Do not worry about things of the past.
Accept each day, disappointments as well as
achievements, and go on,

The December holiday season is coming.
Have you done anything about that long
Christmas gift list? Visit the Majestic WI
Bazaar and Bake Sale where you will find a
display of craft articles that may, include just
what you want to answer the question of what
to give. The bake sale would relieve you of
that dsual weekend chore. See what the WI
have to offer at the Brussels'Library on Nov.

J.B. Priestley once said, "I have found
women to be more conscientious, more
clear-headed, more courageous, less touchy
and more egoistic than men." That being so,
more women should be elected and given
influential 'positions where those excellent
qualities could be put to good use. Perhaps
we would then have more responsible
government. Priestley was cerkoinly no
anti -feminist nor was he a fool, uld that
there were more men, and for that matter
' more women, with like convictions.
More help is coming with ideas for
- Christmas 'gifts. You can get it at the
Christmhs Bazaar and Bake Sale of St. John's
Anglican Church, Nov. 17. If you are looking
for a "special" gift for a "special" someone,
you might find it there.

Good music is a pleasure toaliiten to. It can
be enjoyed while going about daily chores,
when relaxed, reading, sitting with hands
busy or lull you to sleep on a restless night.
But the prevelance of music in public places is
just too much, If it was kept to a soft melodic
background sound, it could be appreciated.
People are being forced to listen to too much
of the wrong kind of music, bombarded with
irritating ear -crashing sounds in shopping
malls, elevators, airplanes and restaurants.
Shopping in city malls can be nerve-wracking
enough without those incessant shrill sounds.
1n a restaurant the sound of soft music is
good. Patrons can converse easily while
enjoying a meal or a chat over a cup of coffee.

A nurse, about to give an elderly man a
needle; asked in which hip he preferred the
shot in. He wanted to know if he really had a
choice. When she said yes, he said, with a
twinkle in his eye, "Yours my dear."
