THE HURON EXPOSITOR, OCTOBER 10, 19M — A9
Goff season approaching itsfinal days
BY CAEOLANNE DWG
Saturday turned out to be a gorgeous day
for golfing and about 30 local golfers enjoyed
our first Turkey Shoot. This mixed 2 -ball
format turned out to be very successful, and
the potluck supper afterwards was delicious.
The winners of the event with a fine 9 hole
total of 40 were Ken Doig Sr. and Barb
Watson. Rita Core and John Watt were the
swingingest couple and other winners of
turkeys or chickens were Doug Elliott, Betty
Watson, Barbara Scott, Rod Doig, Brian
Cook, and Dave Watson. Numbers were
drawn at random to determine the winners of
the birds. After the supper Gord Scott, and
Sean Cook were presented with prizes" for
reducing their handicaps the most at the club.
Cathy Elliott, Allyson Scott, Gord Scott and
Sean Cook will all receive certificates from
the Golf Digest Awards department for their
achievements.

ON THE
GREENS
Well, as the golf season approaches its
final days we are all hoping for good weather
and that last great round of the year. When
it's all over though there are other ways to
keep in touch with golf during the Canadian
winter. There are a number of great golf
books on the market. Some are instructional,
some historical and some hysterial. I'm sure
there is something out there for you. There
are even special golf cook books. (I suppose if
you can't golf you may as well cook).
Don't forget the monthly golf publications
keeping you up with golf statistics from the
