THE HURON EXPOSITOR, .00TOBER 3, 1984 — A9 PINNED—LindaAxtmann receives a McKil- Marie Hicknell, lop Township Centennial pin from Reeve (Mcllwralth photo)" Centennial Pins given to residents Centennial pins are making their way throughout McKillop Township. Desivned by Linda Axtmann, two pins are being given free to every household that pays taxes in McKillop Township. Shaped like a tractor tire to represent the aviculture in McKillop Township, the design of the pin also features a number of the traits that have characterized the township since its establishment in 1857. For instance, dark rectangle on the pin signifies the township shape as it would appear on a county map. At the same time the outer border of the pin, characterized by 16 "bumps" represents the 16 townships that make up Huron County. Miss Axtmann's design was chosen recently in a contest held by the McKillop Township. TOURISM YOUTH PROGRAM/ further college training in a tourism -related occupation.
