Legion to host tourney.
LEGION
NEWS
This week has been very busy around the
Legion between preparing a float for the fa'r
parade and a booth at the fair for Thursday
and Friday..
The Auxiliary was there throughout the
fain selling tickets on a share -the -wealth
draw which was won by Herb Harrrison of
Seaforth. The Legion entry in the Queen of
the Fair competition,, Dianne Gridzak, while
not successful in winning the crown, gave a
very fine speech and certainly looked every
bit a top contestant. All the contestants
should be congratulated on their speeches
and their appearance.
On the final night of Legion Week, a Scotch
Ceilidh was held on Saturday evening.
Chairman of the" event was Peter Malcolm.
On behalf of our president Jack Muir I would
take this opportunity to thank all those who
contributed In anyway to the success of the
event. •
This Saturday afternoon, the seniors golf
tournament will be held at the Seaforth Golf
and Country Club. Anyone wishing to
participate please get in touch with Jim
Watson as soon as possible. Tee -off time is 1
p.m. There will be prizes and a steak dinner
at the Legion following the tourney.
We also have two teams taking part in a
Zone Slow -pitch tournament to be held in
Goderich on Saturday. This is .a first but we
will be interested in the final results and hope
it will be a success.
At the going down of the sun and in the
morning we will remember them.
