On Oct. 5, the church will be having a waste reduction drive. Included are papers tied in bundles, cardboard, tin cans that have been flattened and plain or coloured glass such as window panes or Jars. Proceeds from this go towards the World Wide Relief. Anyone wishing to donate please bring donations to the church between 2-7 p:m. on that date, or if unable bring anytime, leave on the porch. SHOWER A miscellaneous shower was held on Sept. 17 for Marie Lichty. Joan Van Den Assem was MC and read a poem "The Honeymoon is Over". This was followed by a sing song of liymns led by Bev Cardiff with Alice Brothers at the piano. Alice Brothers and Frieda Pipe played a number of piano selections. INSTITUTE AWS In last week's paper ft was noted that Kathleen Danby would attend the Area Convention. It should have read Kathleen Semple. PEOPLE WE KNOW Mr, and Mrs. Mervyn Pipe, Mr. and Mrs. John Pipe, Mr. and Mrs. Laurie Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Brothers all of Brussels and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Coultes of Wingham attended the wedding of Paul Stewart and Marilyn Mercer in Stratford last Saturday. Janet Prout of Parkhill spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Nichol. We are pleased to report that Iona McLean is able to be out and about again and able to wear her shoe after a time with an injured foot. BRUSSELS 1 4-H Meeting two of Brussels 1 club was held on Sept. 19, at the home of Kathy Bridge. Members read through and discussed the Meeting. They determined their body coin• position. Corn chowder was made by Kelly Stephen- son, Kathy Graber and Billy Huether, Members also discussed the Canada Food Guide and the home activities. The next meeting will be held at the home of Barb Graber at 7 p.m. FALL FAIR Once again the Brussels Fall Fair has come and gone. What a super day for the large attendance. The ladies division of the Fair board appreciate all the pies donated for their booths. The winner of the 50-50 draw was Herb Stretton, Brussels. Korea is study of Correspondent MRS. LEWIS STONEIHiOUSE 887.9487 The Sept. meeting of Knox United Church evening unit of the UCW met at the home of Mrs. Harold Vincent. Mrs. Jim Hunter opened the meeting with the worship. Mrs. Hunter shared with members her personal testimony and her enriching days at, Alma College. Leader Mrs. George Michie read a verse "Never Give Up". The study this year is entitled ";Korea", Mrs. William Coultes introduced the subject. The South Korean church asked Canada to help them celebrate one hundred years of Portestant , Christianity. At present the United Church of Canada supports eleven missionaries in Korea as well as grants to specific programs.
