RECREATION PREVIEW
by Bry t n Peter
As SelStember winds down it becomes
obvious that golfers$ have only weekends to
get their game in. If the weather cooperates
we could golf into ovember, but only time
will tell. The new layout, which was first
employed during t e Men's Invitation has
become quite pop ar. After all, not every
course is 13 holes.
Congratulations to Men's Match Play
winner John Longstaff. John defeated Terry
Johnston in the final on Sunday to win the
1984 Don Eaton -Brad Smith trophy. These
matches, which begin in June and continue
all summer, manage to get everyone involved
and provide opportunities for golfers of
various skills to meet and golf together.

Congratulations are also in order for Ken
Doig who finished a fine second in the
Canadian Seniors Championship in Prince
Edward Island last week. Ken was leading
the event after the second round but lost it by
one shot on the final day. They say no one
ever remembers who came second in a
sporting event but we certainly will! Way to
go Dad!
