Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Cook of BRUSSELS Belgrave WI to hold bicentennial meeting 887.9487 As the third Sunday School of each month is set apart as "Children's Sunday," Sept. 16 marked this occasion in Knox United Church, Belgrave. Rev, John G. Roberts conducted the service. Mrs. George Procter, organist, accompanied the children's 20 voice choir as they sang. Then with the toddlers of the congregation, they occupied the centre front pews to receive the message. Two scripture passages relating the deaths of Samson and Stephen were used. A question and answer period revealed that Samson's strength was physical; Stephen.,s was spiritual. The Benediction was sung by the choir, followed by lunch and a period of fellowship in the school room.' AFTERNOON UNIT Afternoon Unit met on Sept. 11 in the schoolroom of the church with an attendance of 12. Mrs. Earl Anderson conducting the meeting. Mrs. James Hunter had attended Alma College in the summer on an Ethel Child's scholarship and gave her report and testi- mony. Mrs. William Fenton had the study on Life for the good people taken from ,the book "Jesus Means Life". Mrs. Walter Scott was in charge of the worship period. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Grant Vincent on the birth of their son and to Mr, and Mrs. Cameron Procter on the birth of their daughter. Agatha Kaasa of Calgary is visiting with Coultes relatives in this area. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Cook who celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Monday, Sympathy is extended to Harold Keating in the loss of his brother-in-law, Stanley Snell of, London, whoassed away on, Sunday in Westminster Hospital, London. Mrs. William Speiran of Listowel and her • son and daughter-tn-law Mr. and Mrs. Vern Speiran of Riverview New Brunswick were supper guests at the home of Mr: and Mrs. Bert Johnston recently. On Friday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Anderson attended the official opening of the Fanshawe Small Hydroelectric' Generating Station at the Upper Thorne's River Conserva- tion Authority's Fanshawe Dam at London. Their son Richard Anderson P. Eng. was project Manager for this installation. After a summer break,tbe Belgrave Wi will hold a bicentennial meeting Sept, 18. There will be various topics of interest and door prizes. Everyone is welcome. REBEKAH LODGE NEWS The Sept meeting of Morning Star Rebekah Lodge opened with a Pot Luck Supper. Sister Vera Hastings presided over the meeting.. Sister Kaye Wise D.P.P. and her installing team will install the officers of the Lodge on Oct. 9. Palmerston, Clinton and Winghatn lodges are invited to this meeting. The charter was d?aped in memory of -Sister Bud Thompson.
