Inclement weather no threat
Like weddings and Christmas, golf tour-.
naments lake Tots of planning and prepara-

good memories and exhausted bodies. The

8nclement weather that appeared in the early
fternoon, The weeks of work. worry and
weariness were all worthwhile as nearly a
hundred golfers made their way around the
course smoothly and without a hitch.
Len Foran of London and former Ontario
Amateur Champion fired a 4 under par 68 to
win the Commercial Hotel trophy for low
gross over the field. Foran ousted Seaforth's
Ken Doig Jr. and Oshawa's Rick Baxter who
both had 69s. Kelly Roberts of London and

Area targeted for drop
Fourteen thousand plastic bags, contain-
ing a simulated rabies vaccine, will be
dropped over the Townships of Hullett,
Goderich, Tuckersmith, Stanley and Col-
borne on Sept. 25.
The bags will each contain a liver -coated
cube, about the size of ,a golf ball. Beneath
the liver is a small sponge, which has been
soaked in a harmless liquid (the antibiotic
tetracycline) and then coated with wax and
fat. The liquid is used to simulate a rabies
vaccine.
The baits will be dropped from low-flying
aircraft along the edge of woodland, on
gravel pits and other rough land, and
pasture, stubble and fields with low
vegetation. The baits will be about 30-50
metres apart. No baits will bg dropped
within 100 metres of farm buildings, houses,
roads or recreation areas.
