Dorothy Brintnell read a mandate from the Mission Article from the Upper Room. The Study Book was taken, by Earls Coleman. Rosa Harris read a poem. Earle Coleman and Rosa Harris were hostesses. REBEKAHS TO SPONSOR BOOTH The Sept. meeting of Amber Rebekah Lodge was held on Wednesday evening, with Vice -Grand, Eunice Aikenhead presid- ing assisted by R.S. V.G. Hazel Corbett. The district deputy president, Sister Kay Wise and her installing team from Clinton will be visiting the Lodge on Oct. 3 to instal) the officers. The Rebekahs are having a table at the park on Sept. 15, when the Parks Board are having a Fla Market and Bazaar. Baking for the table to be in by 10 p.m. UNIT 4 MEETS The Sept. meeting of Unit 4 of Hensall United Church commenced with a pot luck luncheon in the fellowship hall. The meal was enjoyed by 23 members, and five guests from the Bluewater Rest Home and Huronview, President Nan Britton read a new poem by Helen Sterner Rice. Mabel Shirray had the devotion reading of an old tree although bent and gnarled still • sends forth fresh growth. Finance secretary, Mrs. Sherritt reported envelope givings of $553,15. Rev. Stan McDonald showed a film on the Thames River. Meeting closed with singing a hymn and prayer by' Nan Britton. Rev. Kenneth Knight conducted worship in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday. Mrs. Dorothy Taylor presided at the organ for the service of song, CLASSES MOVED Hensall United Church was filled on Sunday morning' when the Sunday School teachers and leaders of youth groups for the coming year were installed. Sunday Church School held their first sessions for this season. With the large registration for Sunday School the staff had to move classes to larger rooms and make room in other sections of the church for some classes, Teachers and staff for the coming year are: Nursery Department, Jayne Consitt, Janice Butson, Joan Corbett; Kindergarten Department class one, Pat Campbell; Class two. Sharon Kyle; Primary Department Class One, Beth McGee;. Class two, Jean Cole; Junior Department Class One, Tammy Preszcator; Class Two, Joanne Rowcliffe; Intermediate Department: Class One, Judy Kyle and Bonnie Gould; Class Two, Joanne Fields and Mary Jane Parsons; . Senior Department, Pam Mallett. The Superintendent is Leslie Bailey with Joanne Rowcliffe as Secretary -Treasurer and Donald Wareing 'as Audio -Visual Secretary. Explorer leaders installed were Shirley McAllister, Kathy Mann, Dorothy Brintnell and Margaret Cole; the Explorers will meet on Mondays at 4:00. Installed as Messenger Leaders were Evelyn Flynn, Bonnie Gould, and Hev Bell; the messengers will also meet at 4:00 on Mondays. Greeting the congregation was Mervin Fields and Cecil Pepper and Paul Alexander were the ushers. The music was led Iy Joyce Pepper and ,Mr. McDonald spoke on the subject of "How Are You Growing Up". Next Sunday will be baptismal service when four babies will be baptized. PERSONALS Rev. McDonald was guest minister for the Annual Huron District Service of the Canadian Foresters held in Kinburn on Sunday afternoon. Mr. McDonald is Cana- dian High Chaplain for the Foresters. Guests were present at the service from Goderich to Listowel and throughout this area, • Many people from the area attended the funeral of Mrs. Donald "Will" Beck in Corunna United Church this week. The Becks lived in Hensall from 1971 to 1978 when Rev. Beck was minister of Hensall United Church. Rev. Stan McDonald visited on Wednes- day afternoon in Listowel with his aunts, Mrs. Robert Goldeer and Mrs. ,William Doig. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chaffe and Sally of Mitchell and Roy Morenz, London were Sunday visitors with Hazel Corbett.
