rk wins fourth golf tourney

won the Ladies Golf Tournament at the
Seaforth Golf and Country Club last Wednes-

For the fourth year in a row, Shirly Lark of
Menton, Ohio has remained Champion at
the Annual Ladies Invitational Golf Tourna-
ment at the Seaforth Golf and Country Club.
Though the wind and occasional shower
daused all the scores to be higher than last
year, Shirly's 82 was good enough to lead
the field of 88 golfers. Shirty, a six
handicapper shot 40 the front nine and was
closely followedpby Carolanne Doig who had
a 41. However C,A. faultered to a back 9, 46
and Shirly's 42 meant there was no contest.
In the second flight, the low gross winner
was Marg Mark of Stratford Country Club
with a 92. Barb Watt of Seaforth, 110 was
good enough to win the third flight and Barb
Caldwell also of Seaforth won the nine hole
section with a 51.
Liz Thomas of Owen Sound had the
longest drive and Gail Skinner of Ironwood
in Exeter was closest to. the pin.
Other winners were: First Flight first low
gross C.A. Doig, 87; first low net, Isabelle
Salisbury, Saugeen; second low gross, Vera
Weiss, Owen Sound, 90; second low net, Ev

The Houseleague Mid-season Champion-
ships were held at Hully Gully on Saturday.
Trophies were given to the top three in each
class, Sonne of the best Houseleague races of
the year were held on Saturday.
The track was in fast and excellent
condition due to the track preparations and
because of the warns weather.
The next Houseleague race will be on July
28 when the fourth round of the Summer
Series of Motocross will take place at Hully
Gully. The fifth and final round of the
Summer Series will take place at Hully Gully
on Sunday, July 29.

Lark and Marg Mark who each had 27, while
Jean Collings of Stratford had the fewest
putts over nine holes. .
The net team best ball was won by the
team of Alva Ross of Markdale and Eileen
Keane and Marg Arscott both of Kincardine.
Their net best ball for 18 holes was a 58.

The fourth and fifth rounds of the July
Summer Series of Motocross will get
underway this weekend at Hully Gully. On
Saturday racing action will start at 1 p.m. It
will be the first Houseleague race after the
Mid -Season Championships which took place
this weekend.
Sunday will be a double-header with the
Juniors and Schoolboys starting at 10:30 and
the Seniors and Experts beginning at 2:00.
Sunday will be the Final Round of the
Summer Series and regular awards along
with the Series prizes will be given out at the
completion of the day.
Lark, Marg Mark, Jewel Butters, and Alva
Ross. The Swingingest Gal was Marjorie
Anderson.
LADIES' NIGHT WINNERS
Winners at last week's ladies' night were
Cathy Elliott, Deb Core, and Marjorie
Anderson. At Men's night the winners were
Ian Doig and Doug Elliott. On Junior
morning over 20 kids competed in the
Captains Choice and the winning team
consisted of Angie Roth, Brian Little, and
' Sean Cook and Brad Carter the captain.
Doug Elliott defeated Mike Marton and
Todd Doig to win his division of the Crown
Life Pro -Am competition.
In the Ladies' match play the first round
results are as follows: Cathy Elliott defeated
Rita Core and now meets Deli Core. Gail
Schroeder meets Bunn Longstaff who
defeated Jean Stewart in first round play.
Mary Cardno defeated Mary Doig on the
first extra hole and now plays Barb Hodgins.
Patsy Gridzak got a bye and awaits the
winner of the Corrie Snowdon and Joyce
Doig match. Leonore Southgate meets Gail
Turner in the second round of play. Elsie
Southgate awaits the outcome of the Jen
Watt and Flo Smith match.
The winner of the Jane Habkirk-Liz
Cardno match will meet the winner between
Mary Longstaff and Marlene Glanville.
Marion McClure meets Betty Watson and
Barb Caldwell meets Dorothea Williamson.
Gail Price defeated Ruth Beuttenmiller and
meets Marion Durnin. Barb Watt defeated
Mad Anderson and meets Cheryl Roth.
Betty Jo Cudmore defeated Mary Thompson
and gets a bye. Bev Armstrong receives a
bye and Barbara Scott meets Denise
Williamson. Linda Gridzak gets a bye into
