Manor residents take in Goderich
The first bus trip of the season was
enjoyed by residents of Seaforth Health Care
Facility on July 11. Some 35 residents
travelled to Goderich for a trip around the
harbor and other points of interest in
Goderich thence to Benmiller and lastly to
the Holmesville Zoo. Mr. Jervis was pleased
to chat with some of the residents. Driver for
,the afternoon was Edison McLean.
A picnic was held Friday on the patio and
the weather was ideal. Over 40 residents
enjoyed the barbecue lunch. '
Church service was conducted by Rev.
Cheryl Stadelbauer-Sampa on Thursday
morning. Mina Scott was pianist.
Margeurite Shill, Gertrude Hail and
Wilma Brill enjoyed an outing to Blyth on
Friday afternoon.
The little pine trees residents planted a
few weeks ago as a bicentennial project are
now showing signs of growth. Residents
involved in the planting were Charles Ross,
Ria Voogel, Mack Tiffin and Wayne Hedges.

McClure recently were Ruth Lutz of
Edmonton, Doris Brisbin off Vernon B.C.,
Mary Cox of Oshawa and Agnes Broadfoot of
Stratford.

of our home. She was interested because the
name of her home town to Crollnn'i l..
Kilbarchan. Apparently it was named by the
Hodgerts frbm the fact that Mr. Hodgcrt's
grandfather also came from Kilharchan,

Patty Coleman, daughter of Bruce an 1
Marjorie Coleman of RR 4. Seaforth seas one
of six Ontario Scholars at Central Hurn 1
Secondary School. Clinton. She was offered
an Entrance Scholarship from Brescia Co '
lege and will be attending the Western
affiliate in September and is enrolled in the
Honors Arts Program. She also plans to
attend Teachers College and hopes to leech
French.
Obituaries
Sant Scott, on his return from Scotland,
visited me and brought me a copy of his book,
"Musings'. in which the name Turnbull
appears. It's worth reading. Sant has shown
good sense in joining the Turnbull clan.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Sniale, from Staffa,
visited with their grandmother Bessie Smale.
They. came with Ross and Marie Smale, of
Egniondvtlte.
' Clare Westcott. Executive Director, Office
of the Premier, Queen's Park, Toronto,
dropped in to see me at the time of the recent
Wintario Broadcast. He's a former student of
Ill inc.

Elizabeth Herbert of Mapleton Manor,
I istowel, died at Listowel Memorial Hospital
on Sunday. July 15. She was 104.
Born in Logan Township, Jan. 3, 1880. she
was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Vosper. Her husband, George
Herbert. died in 1940. She and her husband

Herbert had been a resident of Mapleton
Manor since May, 1977.
Surviving are two daughters, Annie
Steffen of Seaforth, and Olive Fuller of
Wingham; and one son, Melvin, of Listowel.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and
11 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Herbert was predeceased by five
sisters and two brothers.
A funeral set -vice was held at the Robert
Trench funeral home in Listowel on
Tuasday. Interment in the Anglican ceme-
tery. Mitchell.
STEVE CULLIGAN
Stephen Michael Culligan of Lethbridge.
Alberta died on Monday, July 9. He was 34.
Surviving are his parents, ike and Denise
;Coyne) Culligan of RR 3, Mitchell and his
rhildren, Patrick and Teresa. Also surviving
are four brothers. Gerald of Stratford:
Howard of Mitchell: John and Kevin both of
RR 1. Mitchell: two sisters, Joanne, Mrs,
Wayne Stoltz of Palmerston: Maureen. Mrs.
David Wildfong of RR 1. Clinton and 11
nieces and nephew.
Resting at the Lockhart Funeral Home.
Mot hell. Mass of the Christian burial was
celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Roman
( atholtc Church in Mitchell on Saturday, July
14 Monstgnor C.G. Adams officiated.
Interment in Si Vincent de Paul Cemetery.
