Walton recently from Brampton to start up a
new business in her home. She lives in the

Walton chopping mill. Mrs. Klaus is a

daughter Mamie are welcomed to our village.
They moved to Walton in June from St.
Columban to the house formerly owned by
John and Kim Thamer.
Henry continues to carry on his business in
the barn at the back of their lot. He takes in,
trade in appliances from stores, repairs them
then they are ready for sale. He has several
appliances on hand and can be seen at his
premises anytime.
DRAWS MADE
The monthly draw of the Walton Area
Sports Club was held at a recent meeting.
Winners were for hrst

CHURCH NEWS
The annual turkey smorgasbord at Duff's
United Church last Wednesday evening was
another co-operative success.
Approximately 630 enjoyed the meal,
counting the 100 take out dinners from the
manse. The United Church W omen express
their thanks to all who worked or helped in
any way. The community support toward this
event was greatly appreciated.
INSTITUTE DINNER'
The Walton ' W omen's Institute have
planned another hot dinner this Wednesday
at the hall. Starting shortly after 11:30 a.m.
the meal will consist of ham along with
vegetables etc. Apple crisp will be served for
dessert.
The next Institute meeting will be held at
the hall. Wednesday, November 20.
Haiti slides shown at Cranbrook

Jim Cox was the guest Speaker at the
November meeting of the Cranbrook Wo-
men's Institute (W I) held at the home of Mrs.
Wilfred Strickler.
Mr. Cox showed slides and told of his
experience as a volunteer worker in Haiti,
sponsored by the Missionary Church, Listo-
wel. He was a member of a group of 10
volunteers working on a cement block duplex
for missionaries.
OTHER BUSINESS
Donations were voted to the W ingham
Area Day Care Centre for the Homebound
and the Poppy Fund.
The W .I. copy of the new Huron County
Atlas, along with the old atlas will be put op
loan in the library.
Mrs. Donald Perrie brought the report
from the Huron County Fall Rally at Thames
Road and told the members the 1986 Rally
will be in Walton.
Mrs. Clare Veitch reported on the Area
Convention at St. Agatha and mentioned the
enjoyable music by the New Hamburg Bell
Ringers.
Mrs.. Veitch will act as Resolutions
Convenor at the district level.
Cranbrook W .1. will be guests of the Ethel.
W .I, in December for the Christmas meeting.
A number of local hunters have been deer
hunting.
PEOPLE
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Strickler and the
Ralph Adams and John Vanass families
attended an 80th birthday party at Wolverton
for Wilfred's cousin, George Strickler on
November 3. They also visited John Strickler
in the Ingersoll hospital,

Mrs. Helen Barker of Pt, Elgin visited her
sister Mrs. Harvey Smith and they visited

son Robert and Mrs. Collins and family
visited on Sunday with Don and Mrs. Cotton.
Rick Knight is in Toronto with the Listowel
High School from November 5 to 11 when
they sing in Royal Thompson Hall.
