Santa Claus is coming to town
RECREATION PREVIEW

The ANNUAL SANTA CLAUS PARADE
will be held on November 30, 1985 starting at
1 p.m. The parade will commence at the
Seaforth and District Community Centres
and will go down the main street. The
Seaforth lions Club are organizing the
annual parade and if you or your group are
interested in entering a float in this year's
parade please contact Irwin Johnston at Box
626 or telephone him at 527-0743.
The Eighth ANNUAL NOVICE HOCKEY
TOURNAMENT is ready to go on November
29., 30 and December 1, 1985 at the Seaforth
and District Community Centres. Tourna-
ment director Jack Price is pleased to report
that the tournament is full with eight teams in
two categories. The teams in this year's
tournament are: North London Minor,
Plattsville, Bracebridge, Blyth, Milverton,
Southwest London Minor, Byron, Kitchener,
Southwest London Major, Goderich. Oranee-
ville, Hanover, Aurora, Tillsonburg, Listowel
and Seaforth. Watch for a schedule in next
week's paper. Everybody is welcome to come
and watch some exciting hockey.
There will be a C.P.R, course held in
Kincardine on December 7 and 8. If anyone is
interested in taking this course please come
up and see me at the Rec Office or call me at
527-0882. There will also be a C.P.R.
recertification course in Kincardine if the
interest is shown,
SHUFFLEBOARD FOR SENIORS contin-
ues every Wednesday from 1:30 to 4 p.m, at
the Arena. There is no charge and everyone is
welcome to attend an afternoon of exercise
and fun,
The St. Thomas Anglican Church Women
will be having a CHRISTMAS BAZAAR on
November 16 at 2 p.m. The bazaar will be
held at the Anglican Church Parish Hall.
Items include traditional Christmas luncheon
and homemade Christmas puddings and
mincemeat. See you there.
1985 LIONS POOL SUMMER STAFF
please pick up your medals and badges for
the Award of Merit course. The cost will be
$10. You can pick them up at the Recreation
Office between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Todd McLean tops YBC
In the Youth Bowling Council (YBC) last
Monday Todd McLean took the high single
with an outstanding 191 score. Dwain Forrest
hada great game as well with a 176. Todd also
took the high double. with a 344 and Brian
Ian Doig qualifies f
Lan Doig has failed in his attempt to qualify
for the Professional Golf Association (PGA)
tour but has qualified for the Tournament
Players Association (TPA) tour. It is one step
below the PGA.
On November 4, 5 and 6 Mr. Doig played at
Adams Park Golf and Country Club in
Atlanta, Georgia in a 36 -hole qualifying
tournament for the WA. He shot 73, 73 for a
146 total which tied him for third position and
gained him a card for the 1986 TPA tour.
On October 1, 2, 3 and 4 of October Mr
Doig played a 72 -hole qualifying tournamen
for the PGA at Palm Aire Country Club in
Sarasota, Florida. Despite shooting rounds o
72, 72, 67 and 71 and finishing six strokes

to Todd as well with a 160 and Brian Love with
a 147.
Standings to date are Small pox 16, Kiss

strokes. He finished 28 in a field of 144.
On October 29, 30 and 31 and November 1,
Mr. Doig participated in a second -chance
qualifying tournament for the PGA tour.
There he said, he played "poorly" and failed
to make the cut.
For now Mr. Doig said his schedule is
undetermined although he will be travelling
to Bermuda the first week of December where
he is defending champion.
Mr. Doig while disappointed he didn't
qualify for the PGA said he's happy he made
the WA tour.
Altogether the tournaments I played in
last year had about $400,000 available in
prize money. In the TPA tour there is over
