The Huron Expositor, 1985-10-09, Page 17Legion opens bowling season
On Friday night past the Legion bowling
league began another season of bowling. This
is twenty-five years of bowling since the
league started back in 1960. We should all be
300 bowlers by now but not last Friday,
Practice does not make perfect. Once again
there is a need for spares as some of the
teams were bowling with only five players.
There is , a list of spares but any Legion
member may spare. There has been no
change in the rules from last year but bowling
is to start at 7:00 p.m. sharp, please be on
time.
Our entertainment committee hosted a
beef B. B.Q. on Saturday evening with a good
number of members and their guests
present. On behalf of the Branch I would like
to thank the committee for the time and effort
it requires to make a success of an evening
like this. We hope another will be planned in
the corning months ahead. I'd like to thank
"Lively Lou" (Brian Dale) for his efforts at
providing the music to dance to. As far as us
''old timers" go his music is improving.
Thanks Louie.
Zone CI had its fall convention on Sunday
afternoon past. A full parade with branch
colors was held prior to the meeting, to the
cenotaph where wreaths were laid in memory
of the fallen comrades The parade was later
seen on Wingham '1'. V. on the late news. A

was held last Wednesday with 26 ladies
present. The usual business was handled
with thank you letters read including one

our catering for the fall months and all the
