Walton Pee Wee girls were entertained bym their coaches, Cory Rameloo and Darlene Wilson, when they met for an afternoon swim in, the indoorpool at Rammeloos on Wednesday, August 28 followed by a Pet luck supper. They returnedto the Walton Park where they played an exhibition game with the Winthrop girls. An inter -team vote proved the most valuable player to be Sherri Hoegy and the most improved player went to Nancy Godkin. This team only lost two games during the season. Players were: . To the delight of 80 children and some parents, games were played with prizes given to the winners. A Cabbage Patch birthday cake and lemonade were served after singing Happy Birthday. We thank all for coming out and hope to see you next year when we celebrate again. CHURCH NEWS On Sunday morning, September 1, the Rev. Charles Carpentier, of the Brussels United Church, welcomed everyone to worship. The Sacrament of Baptism was held for Brittany -Jane, daughter of Murray and Stephanie Kellington. The United Church will worship this afternoon at the Callander Nursing Home. The Rev. Carpentier's sermon was "The Absurd Goodness of God." The choir had an anthem presentation. The Committee of Stewards will meet at 8 p.m. in the church parlor on September 9. On September 11, the general meeting of the UCW will meet for a short business meeting in the Church parlor. The Elders will meet at 8 'p.m. on September 12. Bible Study begins on September 19 at 8 p.m. Prayers were Said for the ones hospitalized and the people at home.
