Friday, July 10th is the date for the 68th Annual Pioneer Park Rummage Sale.
After more than two thirds of a century, it has become a deeply entrenched tradition. It is as
much a part of the summer as the park is a part of the community.
The rummage sale allows the public to participate in the perpetuation of the park's health and
vitality. The funds collected from the Rummage Sale will be used for the ongoing needs and
upgrades to the many park projects. Once again this event will be held at the Bayfield Arena
from 7-9 p.m. with the "outside" sale beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The public is vital to the success of this endeavor. Organizers are asking members of the
community to donate whatever they can. During spring-cleaning of homes, garages and trailers
think of the rummage sale. Large and small items will be accepted. But please note that
clothing, shoes, magazines, textbooks, televisions, large appliances, building materials,
mattresses or soiled or broken items will not be accepted. All baby items as well as electrical
and sports equipment must be CSA approved.
This year there will not be a large item pick-up. A "drop-off' location is available and can be
accessed by calling Art at 519 565-2783. In addition, donations can be brought to the arena on
July 9th starting at 11 a.m.
Another part of the sale will be the Silent Auction with an array of wonderful selections donated
by community members and local business. Bidding will be held during the sale hours.
The Pioneer Park Committee appreciates the donations from the public and the assistance of
the many volunteers who make this yearly event possible.

CA TAS ACTION
The Ausable-Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA)
is taking court action against Paul Fornier for
conservation violations on his ravine property in
North Houston Heights subdivision.
A preliminary hearing was held in Goderich Court
recently. Lawyer Barry Card, a legal specialist of land
use planning and development law represented
ABCA at the hearing. The trial date was set for May
--, 19 in the Goderich Court.
f ( Fornier faces two charges. The first charge says his

The Bayfield Historical Society's (BHS) Collector Exhibition is now in its 15th year!
This year this highly successful event, is being held a few weeks later than in past years, May
9 -10th are the new dates for the show; all other pertinent details remain the same.
The exhibition will be held in the Bayfield Community Centre from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
There will be free admission but donations are appreciated. The official opening ceremonies
will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. to be immediately followed by the "Taste of Huron" live food
auction. The extensive silent auction closes at 4 p.m. sharp on Sunday. As usual the
community centre will be filled with unique and interesting items displayed by unique and
interesting individuals.
ABCA without ABCAs approval.
"This is an environmentally sensitive property that
should not be built up. Last year the ravine beside
the property was reporting huge pollution running
from the ravine into Lake Huron. Fornier does not
have a proper sewage system nor water drainage
and he has cut down trees that should never have
been touched," said Jerry Selk, a resident of North
Houston Heights subdivision.
Last year Selk and Bob Campbell, both residents of
the subdivision south of Bayfield asked ABCA and
Bluewater council to take legal action against Fornier.

Once again the local business community has been very supportive with corporate
sponsorship and donated auction items — the BHS is deeply appreciative of their generosity.
People are invited to check out the window display at the Bayfield Archives on Bayfield Main
Street North, not only are this year's corporate sponsor logos on display but so are some of the
silent auction items.
BHS member and local antiques dealer Tim Saunders, of Three Squirrels Antiques, will be
available on Sunday only to identify and appraise any items people may be curious about.
There is no fee for his services and any donations collected benefit the BHS.
The enthusiasm for this event has remained strong over its 15 year history because it fits so
well with the greatest desire of any historical society: to preserve, explore and share with
everyone the rich and diverse history of the community. All are welcome. If you need further
show information please contact Phil at 519 482-9230 or Binnie at 519 565-2376.

SUBMISSIONS
Today you are reading the 305th weekly issue of the Bayfield Breeze. I thank you for scrolling all the way down to the bottom to
see what I have to say. We are brought to your email inbox each week because a number of people advertise their service or
business throughout the issue. I encourage you to click on their advertisements and tour their websites to see what they are all
about. We wouldn't have been able to create this 305th issue if it weren't for them.
Our advertisers offer us amazing support ... we often have people wanting to join our team of sponsors but very rarely do we
have spots open, but right now, today, we do. So if you would like to be a part of the Bayfield Breeze by becoming an advertiser
just send me an email. Do you have a special event coming up in the next few months that you'd like to advertise? Well that's a
possibility too. Just ask. Also anyone who just appreciates the work we do is always more than welcome to make a financial
contribution. Thanks for reading. — Melody
P.S. The next "live" edition of the Bayfield Breeze will be May 13. The deadline for articles or photographs is Sunday, May 10 at 4 p.m.
Ideas and contributions to the Bayfield Breeze are always welcome.
Deadlines for submissions are Sundays at 4 p.m.
