—Mr. Alex. Orr, of the Brunswick

During the past week the two new plate
glass windows have been placed in posi-
tion, and they make it great improve-
ment in the appearance of the house.
—A western editor told his subscribers
to help edit the paper. Said he; "If
you get married, send iu the particulars;
if a baby arrives at your home, send it
in." Three days after the paper came
out, two babies were left in his sanctum.
—The brick work is well advanced on
the new Relines block and most sub.
stantial walls are being built. This solid
block will be a great iniproveinent to the
north end of our very progressive town
and great .credit is due to Mr. Holmes
for his enterprise.
—Homuth Bros'. unction sale of dry
goods, boots and shoes, etc.,on Saturday
last were very successfal, a large quanti-
ty of goods being disposed of. The sates
will be held again on Saturday of this

—Mr.Thos. Arnold,who was in Wing -
ham a couple of weeks ago appointing
agents for the sale of a closet patent ;for
private residences, was drowned at
Sarnia on Wednesday of last week ; while
near .the freight shed at the dock in
Sarnia he was apparently seized of
heart trouble and fell into the water.
