—Mr. Chas. Thorns sale of farm stock
and implements at Zetland on Monday
was largely attended. Cattle and horses
were sold at good prices. Jno. Purvis
was the auctioneer.
—The last concert of the Wingham
popular course of concerts will be held
on Monday, March 30th. The attraction
will be the Wilson -Frye Co. Full par-
eiculars in our next issue.
—The new engine for the Wingham
electric light works has arrived in town.
It is a large powerful looking piece of
:,machinery. It will not be placed in
position for a few weeks.
—Mr. Ed. Smith has purchased .his
father's house and lot on Frances street,
and Mr. Smith, sr. has purchased the
property belonging to his son, Mr. M.
Smith in Lower Wingham.
—The Seaforth Sun office was gutted
by fire on Saturday morning. The plant
valued at $3,400 is almost a total loss and
was insured for $2,500. The TIMES is
sorry to learn of Brer. Westcott's serious
loss.
—Mr. John Shoebottom of East Wa
wanosh has exchanged his quarter sec-
tion in Manitoba for 30 acres of land in
Morris township. The exchange was
made through the agency of T. J. Ma-
guire.
Mr. Geo. Wade, who recently sold his
farm had a very successful auction sale
on Thursday last.. Everything sold at
very ,good prices. .Alex. Kelly was tate
auctioneer and he was very successful in
his first sale.
—At a meeting of the Furniture Man-
ufacturers at atratford last week, it was
decided to advance the price of furniture
10 per cent., owing to the advance in
lumber and other material.
—Mr. R. A. Dinsley had one of his
eyes severely injured while at work in
Bell's factory on Friday. A piece of
board flew from a saw and struck him in
the eye. We are pleased to learn that
his sight has not been injured.
—What is known as the Combe block
in Clinton was completely destroyed by
fire on. Monday night, The block con-
sisted of Combe's drug store, Hay's
Ianudry and Couch's butcher shop and
