"VASTER THAN HAS BEEN," The editor of the Clinton New Era recently took a trip to the West and in a a letter to his paper says: - "On the train by which I came to Winnipeg were a number of English tourists, and while we stood at the end of the car viewing the scenery as we passed around Lake Superior, one of theta remarked to me "That is a large take -you cannot see the other side." I replied . that it was the largest body of fresh water in the world, and you could put Euglaud, Ireland and Scotland in the centre of it, without scarcely knowing that they were there. He looked at me with such a look of scorn that disbelief was as evident as if he had said "You Ite," and I ani sure he felt I was "stuffing" him, where as my statement was absolutely true."
