A LECTURE ON INDIA.,
In the absence of Pastor Dunlop the
pulpit of the Baptist church was oc-
cupied,last Sunday a. m. by Rev.
Dr. Stewart and in the evening by
Rev. H. Priest who delivered a lec-
ture on "India." Mr. Priest has been
laboring in the IVIission fields in that
country for years and, speaking from
experience, his discourse was a very
interesting one. 0 Mr, Priest preached
in 'Willis church in the forenoon.
KILLED IN A MINE.
, A few weeks ago Mr. William Clark
• arrived from England, accompanied' by
his daughter; and paid a brief visit
to his niece, Mrs. E. Butt of tho
Base Line. The (laughter accepted a
situation in town, but Mr. Clark,
who had been engaged in mining in
•the Oler Country, went to Hibbing,
Minnesota., and it was while employ-
ed in a Mine at that place that litk
met his death. in an accident last
week. His untiznely decease was a
great sl4ack to his daughter and the
fanitly at home, who are thus de-
prived of their head and bread -winn-
