Some temporary safety measures
are on the way for the Huron County
courthouse associated with an eight-
week trial scheduled for May.
Boris Panovski, the man accused of
murdering one man and attempting to
kill a woman at the Hullett Wildlife
Conservation Area in 2014, will stand
trial for the charges in Goderich
beginning May 8.

Manager Barbara Hall spoke to the
matter at Huron County Council's
March 7 meeting, saying that a
number of measures would have to
be implemented in the building
ahead of the trial. Construction was
already set to begin at the end of
February.
"The construction of a secure,
controlled entryway, known as a
sally port, will be required and it will
consist of cement blocks and a chain
link fence, wrapped in a black, non -
transparent fabric/tarp material. The
chain link fence will not be fastened
to the courthouse in any way," Hall
said in her report to council. "The
majority of the sally port will be on
the property owned by the Town of
Goderich and they have also been
contacted... regarding these
measures. The [Ontario Provincial
Police] will control the lock on the
gate to the sally port and [the
Ministry of the Attorney General]
will determine any signage
required."
In addition, Hall said that a
