11. O. WILL VISIT SEA FORTH.
-About thirty members of the Huron
Old. Boys' Aseociation met Saturday
night in the Temple building, Toronto,
and decided to accept the inyitation of
the Seafortb town council to hold their
annual excursion this year to that place.
The date was fixed for Saturday, July
5, and tickets will be good to return on
Monday. Seaforth has promised to
give the old boys a good time, ancl ar-
rangements will be made with that end
in vlew.
MARRIED AT ST. PAUL'S. -On
Monday, •the 21st, a pretty wedding
took place at St Pauni church rectory,
the happy participants being Miss Ann
East, daughter of the late Thos. East,
of Hallett, to Fred, Argent,also of Hal-
lett. The ceremony was performed by
the rector, Rev C. Gunne. The bride
was assisted by her niece, Miss Jennie
East, and the groom by Thos. Neilans,
of Oarlock. The newlywed will reside
at Oarlock, where Mr Argent is epgag.

W. Perry, who was very low last
week with pueumonia is reported out
of danger; daughter Enid is

but is not reported to be dangerous..
. , We are glad to learn that Mrs Thos
Holloway is recovering from it siege of
pleurisy and erysipelas; her. condition
has been serioue and she is still 'confin-
ed to the house- .Mrs Jerinet (sister
of VV. and G. .Doherty), of Petosky,
Mich:, hasheen laid up with illness at
the home of G. Doherty but we learn
she is improving.- ,
• OUR SPORTS. -Now that spring
has come, and ping-pong, cards and the,
other had oor ganaes are being laid aside,
sports for the summer are being talked
up, and • a general interest is being
manifested. Judging front the many
exciting local games uhtved last season
we still have strong teams to put in
the field. The lacrosse boys are prac-
tising every night,. and will uphold
their laurels in the intermediate series.
The Collegiate foot ball players are
ale° at practice; and will put up a good
team to compete for the Hough cup. •
The lawn tennis club has . organized,
with an enthusiastic official' staff, and
'expects a good season. The. lawn
bowlingnlub, the best sporting organ-
ization in town, is having the lawn
prepared, and it will not be long before
the shouts of the skips are heard; there
will be. the Various local contests
• among the members, the gamest with
outside clubs, and the ever exciting
tournament matches, which. will all
tend to make the coming season one
of great interest and enjoyment. It
will not be long before we hear the
merry•shouts of those ' on the green,
and no matter what's the -game, Clin-
ton can hold her own with any. club,

CLINTON SENDS NINE. -Clinton
is doing nobly in sending recruits for
the fourth contingent ot the Canadian
Mounted Itiflee for South Africa. Of
those who went from here to London
for examination only two were re-
jected, and Clinton sends nine noble
sone to do duty, who are: Charles
Boyer and J. ' McEsven, (whose
homes are in Ailsa Crairr),Joseph Blan-
ey, George A. Twitchell, William B.
Whitely, William It Miller, and John
Moon (Londeeboro) who left London
on Friday, and W. Miller (Sumtnerhill)
and W. Cantelon, (son of D. Cantelon)
left on Wednesday for Halifax, pre-
paratory to sailing about the second
week in May. The bort have been
given a royal send off, vend have the
earnest wishes of all for a safe return
after their year's experience.
JUNIOR BACHELORS' BALL -
The assembly given by the junior bach-
elors in the town hall last Friday night
was very successful, everything work-
ing harmoniously. The decorations of
the ball were artistically designed, mid
gave it a cheery and gala appearance;
the floor was excellent for dancing, and
the music, by Brown's orchestra, was
equal to anything previously heard,
giving general satisfaction. Dancing
commenced at 8.80, and every;number
on the program was fully enjoyed; at
midnight a dainty hinch was served,
and at 2 o'clock thie enjoyable social
event was concluded, adding another
to the list of gatherings which will be
remembered with pleasure by all who
attended. The patronesses were Mrs
M. D. McTaggart, Mrs W. Brydone,
Mrs W. Bose, Mrs J. E. Hovey and
Mrs E, M. McLean. The conin2ittee
