in Clinton; Thisinteresting person
was born near Glasgow, Scotland, in
the year isir andlas thus lived in the
reigns of five sovereigns: George
George IV IV., Queen Vic-
toria and Edward VII. When nine
'years of age, she came, with her par-
ents, to Canada and settled in Ram -
nay Township,. near Carleton
After her marriage, she resided for
thirteen -Years in St. Vincent town-
ship, in the vicinity of Meaford. For-
ty-four years of her life were spent at
Claude, Peel county, from which place
she moved to Clinton in the year 1.808.
Two of her sons at present reside in
Clinton, W. Doherty and G.
Doherty. She is still hale and hearty
and, in all liklihood, good for another
ten years of life. Around her on
Wednesday evening gathered as many
eof her children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren as could pos-
sibly he present. It was her expressed
wish that she should see every one
of her children 'but engagemente
elsewhere prevented the realizaition
of this wish, However, she renieM-
bered them all, The evening was
*spent in entertainment, tbe little ones
present provided the program. - Their

otherwise, dellvhted the old lady's
heart. After refreshments had been
served, the health of Mrs Doherty. was
proposed, as a toast, by her son W.

the Christian influence of his mother
