White united in marriage, Gladys Mildred, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Bowman, to Mr. Frederick A. Johnston of London, son of William and the late Mrs. Johnston, of Wingham, Ont. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore her travelling suit of cream venetian serge, large black tulle hat with touches of mauve, and corsage bouquet of mauve orchids. The bride and groom were unattended. The wedding music was played by Mrs. E. W. White. Mr. and Mrs. Johnston motored dir- ectly from the chgrch to the train and left for Buffalo and points east, amid Showers of rice and confetti. on their return they will reside in London. Owing to the absence of the bride's brother overseas, the wedding was very quiet, only the most intimate friends and relatives being present.
