The, Redden reunion was held on
Sunday;" August 4, at the home of
Lee Hedden, Dorchester, with some
fifty members 1of the clan -attend-
ing from St. Catharines, Woodstock
Thorndal% Lucan, London, Hyde
Park, Niagara Falls, Hamilton,
Crumlin, Brantford, Ottawa, .res -
den, Clinton and Hensall.
A picnic supper, served on the
lawn, was followed with a full line
of sports, climaxed with a ball
game between the Uncles versus
the Nephews, captained by Bob
Hedden, St. Catherines.'
Mrs. Catherine Hedden, of Hen-
sall, who will celebrate her 77th
birthday in. the near future, was
present. Mrs. Hedden has close
• to ninety descendents.
JOHNSTON REUNION
Johnston families and relatives
in Eth.e Whitechurch district held
their annual get-together at the
Lions Park in Seaforth on Sun-
day. 'Four of the original fam-
ily, Mrs. John Ireland, Teeswa-
ter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert John-
ston and Mrs. Sam McBurney, of
Wingham, were in attendance.
Others came from St. Thomas,
Mildmay, Clinton and Goderich.
The committee was: president,
Wilbur McKague; secretary, Mrs.
McKague; sports, Joseph Kerr,
Elmer Ireland, Elgin Johnston
and Gordon McBurney.
Over 90 were in attendance and
Gershom Johnston was appointed
president for next year, with Mrs.
Edward McBurney as secretary.

The Malcolm reunion was held
in Stratford Sunday with 65 pre-
sent. The president, Dr. Gordon
McKenzie took charge and' wel-
comed the guests.

which ran for three and a quarter

Port Elgin Junior Farmers, as
sole entry, won the square dance
competition and in girls' step -
dancing, Marybelle MacSween, of
Glamis, was unopposed. However,
when the men came to "tamarack
'erdown" there was keen compe-
tition before Aurel Armstrong, of
Kincardine Township, outstepped
Chester Emmerton, of Ripley, and
Mel McMillan, of Harriston.

Storey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
William Storey, echo was honored
as Dairy Princess at the Twilight
lneeting at the Huron County Home
last week. Betty will compete and
represent the county at the CNE
this month. We wish her every

ber of juvenile delinquents in
the Toronto area -25 per cent
in a year -is. a matter of con-

rise, changes in social condi-
tions, broken homes, too much
money, bad housing.

en homes? We all know that
alcoholism As directly respon-

In Canada we now have sev-
en million adults who drink.
Four hundred and twenty
thousand of these are prob-
lem -drinkers. One in 17 adult
drinkers becomes alcoholic.
Ontario has 76,000 alcoholics,
Toronto 14,000.
